I need to lower my blood pressure a little for a physical tomorrow. Is it possible to lower one's blood pressure in 24 hours? If so, how?
I find that eating Ice Cream lowers my blood pressure for a couple of hours. Probably the calcium or the cold.
Why would you want to alter what your current BP is? It defeats the purpose of the physical.
I dunno.. cucumbers? No salt or anything? I’m not a doctor and this is just a suggestion which no claims are made.
Also I think there’s something to do with blood sugars as well there.
How far?
I beard drinking water, but don’t overdo it. Medical FReepers will know best. :)
How is this breaking news?
‘heard’
I can control it by deep breathing and relaxing for a moment or two- usually enough to knock a couple points off
Word to the wise - get any additional life insurance you've been thinking about BEFORE they put you on meds - same goes for sleep apnea diagnosis
And I'm not going to tell you how.
You need to cowboy up and see what your blood pressure really is and if it is high start meds or adjust the meds you are already taking.
Your grandchildren will thank you, as will your cardiovascular system, your kidneys, your eyes...
Just go to the doctor and let them find out what you real BP is.
Then get it treated. It’s nothing to blow off.

If it is a “qualifying” physical (for insurance, a job, to get on a pension plan, etc), then the point is to DEFEAT the physical.
Yogurt and apple juice are high in potassium. Magnesium will also lower it as it’s a natural blood relaxer. I’d suggest Magnesium, Calcium, zinc tablets as they are less likely to lead to an imbalance.
There is a supplement at Vitamin shoppe named “Pressure Lo” which works very well.
Short of stabbing yourself, I dunno.
Aspirin, maybe?
Stress can increase your blood pressure. If you rush to get there, it may be higher. So get there early and keep calm.
Viagra.
Hmmmmm, I would focus more on what you shouldn't eat then what you should eat. Avoid coffee beforehand. Maybe 'knock one out' before the exam. LOL
