Update Windows, Office, IE, Edge and Adobe Flash now plus OpenSSH
Patch Tuesday - Microsoft has released 14 sets of software patches to address critical security vulnerabilities in Windows, Office, Internet Explorer, and Edge. Yes, even Edge: Microsoft's supposedly whizzbang super-secure web browser.
Users and sysadmins should apply August's Patch Tuesday fixes as soon as possible: the bugs can be exploited to remotely execute code on vulnerable systems, allowing miscreants to hijack computers and install malware by tricking people into opening documents and webpages. Plugging in a malicious USB device can grant an attacker administrator privileges on Windows PCs.
The full update includes:
[The article goes on at length about 14 critical and other patches and fixes.)If Microsoft's fixes weren't enough, Adobe has posted an update to fix 34 CVE-listed vulnerabilities in Flash Player. Users running Flash on Windows, OS X, and Linux should update (or disable or set as click-to-run) the Adobe Flash player.
Finally, OpenSSH 7.0 has been released, which fixes four security bugs and bans password-based root logins by default.

And yes I know some of you eschew such updates, but there's a price for that as well...
Get patching!
NEVER allow Flash to run.
DONT use CHROME, Flash is built in.
I am surprised they aren’t charging a monthly fee for Edge

I only got 6 patches and two of them had to do with windows defender updates
How do I update windows explorer?
What version of Windows are you running?
Updates for IE should come as part of the overall Windows update set. Most times they're just incremental security fixes, but sometimes it'll be a version upgrade. If you're not running IE 11 you might get offered that, depending on which version of Windows you have.
Windows 10 HOME edition..my laptop has PRO edition, both received the same number of patches
How do you like Win 10 so far?
Its alright..I like having the start button back(Now I dont have to use StartIsBack application anymore) I like the tiles, other than that its basically the same. Just put back in malwarebytes and ready go to..oh and I like the notifications icon near the clock that’s pretty cool reminds me of android phones
I opened up Microsoft office not sure if any updates were installed how can I check?
Within the Windows Update part of Control Panel there's a place to check the Update History. That should include the Office updates as well as the operating system updates.
Interesting, I didn't know Edge was going to even support Flash. No plug-ins, or thereabouts?
Yeah Im not seeing the microsoft office updates in update history
You probably want to check your Windows Update settings. In the same dialog where you can set the options for “automatic” vs. “notify” vs. “download but don’t install”, there should be a section that determines whether you get updates for your other Microsoft products. That might not be turned on. Other than that, I’m not sure how it’s handled in Win 10 yet, but perhaps another FReeper with Win10 can help.
Yeah Im at automatic download and also I have checked download updates from other microsoft products. Went to office now says Im on
Release: July 2015 Update
Version: 15.0.4737.1003
I’d guess you’re good to go!
