I've agonized, like many here, these past couple days. I honestly believed there was a concerted effort to embarrass and knock Trump off, a conspiracy if you will, but Ive come full circle and now feel differently, very differently.
I dont think there was any conspiracy. I think the Fox trio, worked hard to challenge the candidates, and independently from Rupert Murdock or Ailes or anyone else.
Right out of the gate it was great TV. After the opening salvo, you didnt want to turn your tv off.
And what happened? Each candidate was hit with a zinger. Trump was hit the most, and I doubt that anyone else running for office could have answered like he did.
He swatted their best shots as well as Newt would.
And what else happened? Fox tried to take the rest of the group out with tough questions. And they all rose to the occasion, except maybe Bush, who seemed to play it safe...perhaps Walker too.
I think all in all Fox showed why the interviews of Obama are a big joke. Obama or Hillary could never stand up to the barrage that our side took last week.
And I am proud of everyone, including Chris, Kelly and Brett... and all of our candidates.
I pray that eventually we will all coalesce and unite. I think Trump can and will do that. It makes no sense to run third party... makes no sense. He's way ahead now, and he's taking shots left and right.
What is left now, is for someone to sit down with him, and ask him some serious policy questions about our country, and how he sees us winning. He can tell us. It's right there in his book, Making America No. One Again.
I'm waiting for some one like Kelly to have read the book and ask him questions on what he says in the book.
The bottom line, if you can't handle Chris, Kelly and Brett, how in the heck are you going to handle Putin, the Chinese, the Iranians etc?
I hope Trump rises to the occasion and doesnt op out on any future debates. I hope he remain himself.
I think he will. He fired his manager, who apparently was a milktoast.
If Kelly is smart she'll find some way to make it right with Trump. She'll invite him back on her show.
He'll refuse of course, then eventually he'll accept, and it will be the biggest show of her career, and the two will be best of friends.
You know why? because she is a lot like Trump.
She's a class act. She could taken Erickson's invite, who btw is a classless act, a joke and a loser.
In short, I am excited. The top four, Trump, Cruz, Carson and Carli and all outsiders. What does that tell you folks!!!!?
That's been lost in this whole thing......Any support she may have should be gone because of that, more than the Trump thing.
You live in a dream world, fella. That photo tells you everything you need to know about her. Maybe you’d like to tend to the poor little bimbo?
I never realized until reading these past few days about her interest in Roger Ailes's private parts, and made far more "offensive" comments that anything Trump said. Also those sleazy, campy photos of her in GQ - posted on several threads here - that, to be kind to her, would led one to label her a "bimbo."
No, she was not a class act. She made the debates all about herself. The way she treated the rest of the candidates was sickening.
You better not that do that. I mean with all your power and authority and influence they will probably sack her and the others.
PLease reconsider, and don’t do that.... lol
Oh, so she was a “class act” when she said to Ted Cruz, Did God speak to you?
Is this thread a joke?
That is an interesting choice of words, and somewhat accurate. I found the time preceeding the candidates coming on stage as awkward and unprofessional. Once on the stage it seemed to be just as much about the moderators as the candidates. The moderators seemed to be almost giddy and they were still unprofessional from the standpoint that they didn't seem serious to me. That's just my take.
I think the debate format is completely wrong. First, not all questions are asked of all candidates. Second, the time alotted to answer a question is inadequate. I want to know several things at a minimum from candidates, including what, why, how, and how much it will save taxpayers. (Note, I am not interested in anything other than shrinking the budget, cutting government, eliminating regulations and providing American citizens with greater freedom and liberty.) The things I want to hear cannot be fit in sound bite answers.
Real debate format allows all candidates to address an issue within a time limit that is reasonable. What needs to occur is a major reform in the primary system. Instead of pressing the flesh with everyone in Iowa and NH for such a small percentage of the national vote, candidates should be sitting in studios or online having serious discussions and debates. I much rather have too much information than the same old stump speech lines converted to sound bites in a debate setting.
Have you read the transcript?
No... it's not...
She was tough on all of them, and our sides did well.
Trump is whining, but whining with all the calculation of Cary Grant on the Riviera.
He’s going to take full advantage of this, as he should. They dumped on him, calculatingly or not, and they owe him.
He delivered big time a 24% rating, he did, not the FOX Trio. Without Trump, it would have been lucky to surpass, Jon Stewarts’s fair well.
So, Trump should be looking for them to make it right next time.
IMHO
She’s still not going to sleep with you.
>>>She confirmed her nasty bias on the last question to Ted Cruz: Did God speak to you?<<<
That was the icing on the Cake for me, her Mocking God with that condescending tone. She was also using it to attack Cruz’s Faith.
I wonder if she would ask Hillary if she still talks to Eleanor Roosevelt’s Ghost?
Are you Japanese?
Good plan. I like it.
NO, but I’ve watched the debate three times now, and each time, it’s clear that Trump handled things almost perfectly. The guy is a master. Kasich did well too, other’s too.
I know the trio spoke for 30 minutes. I know their questions were superficial, but I think they were questions, the candidate was going to ultimately get.
NO, you people here can climb all over me like a bad smell all you want, but I’m sticking to my guns on this.
I think in the final analysis, Trump won this big, because of the way he handled things.
We’ll see by WEdnesday. I’m predicting he’s going to top 30%
Give me a break. She wouldn’t have missed that debate if she had her appendix taken out that afternoon.
Well, you said it all, Laz.
There were ten people on the stage. WAy too many.
There should be three tiers. Just like minor leagues, AA, AAA and MLB
