Element, such as iron, interacting w water and whatever atmosphere is present.
It wouldn’t be unusual for such an element to have geological forces drive these alignments.

Not just red lines. Look at the large version of the photo, there are all sorts of similar lines crossing the surface in the same way.

Fractured crust, fluid underneath leaked out and refroze. Could be like that for a billion years without change.
Or, my Children’s Librarian had a summer project with the kids. It’s the same color scheme as the carpet in the Kid’s area after the last event.
