Milwaukee police late Monday were investigating a report from a woman who said she saw what she believed to be a lion on the city's north side.
The woman reported seeing the animal shortly after 4 p.m. in the 200 block of E. Garfield Ave., according to a news release from the Milwaukee Police Department.
Officers checked the area for several hours and contacted the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, according to the release.
The DNR asks that anyone who sees a wild cat should call authorities immediately and not attempt to capture it, police said.
