Hackers are threatening to expose information on over 30 million users of AshleyMadison.com, a website for cheating spouses famous for its tagline Life is short. Have an Affair.
A group of hackers called The Impact Team reportedly has posted some data already and is demanding that parent company Avid Life Media shut down AshleyMadison and a sister site, EstablishedMen.com, according to Krebs On Security, a blog run by former Washington Post reporter Brian Krebs.
The Toronto-based Avid Life Media said Monday it closed the breach in its computer system and was working with law enforcement. How the hackers got in, Avid Life didnt say.
In a manifesto obtained by Krebs, the hackers said: Avid Life Media has been instructed to take Ashley Madison and Established Men offline permanently in all forms, or we will release all customer records, including profiles with all the customers secret sexual fantasies and matching credit card transactions, real names and addresses, and employee documents and emails.

Another way the left is destroying the family.
30 Million Members on Ashley Madison.
The Federal Government should have bought it and turned it into the Obamacare Website.
Either way, people would still getting screwed.
Someone has to say it...
30 million???????
I don't think they would ever need to stoop to using a web site to mingle with the common folk. They have all the connections they need to get whatever they want, when they want it.
Anyway... I wonder what this hacker group is after, if not money. Maybe one of the hackers' wife was using one of those sites to cheat on him.
You and many others here cannot continue Living in a Conservative Bubble my FRiend.
If you do, you have absolutely no idea who we are really up against.
Reminds me of the story Rush tells about the Nixon Election Victory for POTUS. Some New York Liberal Elite was shocked that Nixon because she didn’t now anyone who Voted for Him.
> Someone has to say it...
30 million???????
Probably 1,000,000 wierdos with 30 profiles @
Sounds like a lawyer backed hacker group.
Carlos Danger better call his lawyer
That surprised me as well, but think about it.
In this day of TV shows like The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Married at First sight, etc., the ruling on fag marriage, it shouldn’t surprise us that 50% of all marriages fail.
The word marriage means nothing to half the country.
Why wouldn’t there be 30 million members of the website?
“Once the names are exposed, it should be the final nail in the coffin of Bill and Hillary’s marriage......For sure this time.”
Very doubtful. Those two have been married in name only for many years. Their “union” is strictly a business partnership.
Finally! A data breach I DON’T have to worry about
Go Hackers!
>>Finally! A data breach I DONT have to worry about
<<
Frankly, I was thinking exactly the same thing.
Tomorrow I will look around the office for panic-stricken faces.
>>Very doubtful. Those two have been married in name only for many years. Their union is strictly a business partnership.<<
Rush today said he was thinking maybe BJ clinton might use this to get names of chicks without having to pay...
Give me a break, I strongly suspect she never wanted much of any male contact to begin with. His “cheating” kept the pressure off her quite nicely. An now she is so far past menopause, sex likely never occurs to her.
Before saying (I hope you're joking) you are warming up to the hackers, you need to understand you have already been “hacked”.
And if/when it becomes either financially or politically valuable, all YOUR Internet communications will also be exploited.
Before you think that's a small price to pay for outing dirty secrets, consider that the Feds have the best hackers, already know who all the most noxious sexual predators and violent criminals are, but don't act to stop crimes...
Good points. Maybe the membership spans the world.
What a commentary on the world going down the tubes.
“What is Ashley Madison...”
She is a Democrat Dating site located in Canada
rather than in Dane County Wisconsin as her name
would suggest.
“They have NOW MANY MEMBERS???”
They have 37 million profiles. The number of members
would depend on how many suffer from multiple
personality disorder, multi gender issues,
or are just plain liars.
Heh. I don’t know how anyone could successfully exploit any email I’ve ever sent in my life. Nor gain any leverage from them, or any other internet comment I’ve made. I’ve never made any comment I’d be embarrassed over, nor purchased any product I’d be embarrassed over. Other than Ebay, I’ve never even done ANY business over the internet.
If hackers are destined to be wrecking-balls going after corporate America or our own degenerate government agencies, I frankly just no longer care. After both entities have done all they could to push both amnesty and faggot-marriage onto the country, the prospect of hackers making life hell for them is not something that will elicit concern or sympathy from me.
I’m with you guys. I laughed my ass off thinking of all those people who heard/read the news and thought “Uh-oh!”
