A 132-year-old rifle discovered on a remote rocky outcrop in the heart of the Grand Basin National Park in Nevada is still a mystery as researchers try to find more answers.
The Winchester rifle, which was found unloaded in November, has been shipped to the Cody Firearms Museum in Wyoming where it is temporarily on display among 7,000 other guns.
Museum workers said there are no records showing who owned the rifle and that its lifter was removed making it able to only fire a single shot at once, according to Fox News.

To come up with the money, you would have to scour the roadside for miles to find enough 2¢ deposit bottles and then pack them to a store that would accept them.
Yes. My sis and I would walk to town and usually gather enough bottles for a Popsicle or a soda or even a soda and a candy bar. We knew exactly how much the tax was and there the break points were for the extra penny tax. To avoid that extra penny tax we would make our purchases separately.
So long ago and I think better days than these. We thought we were well off because we were.
Great scene...great movie.
Sounds about right. Bet the kid waited a long time to get another.
Isn't that what Jesse Jackson prays when he hears footsteps behind him on the streets at night?
Dude. Anybody here who reads that had can’t tell it’s a joke without being told it’s a joke...shouldn’t be here.
Just saying. Leave the tag off. If somebody whines about your comment you know they don’t have enough IQ to matter.

Lol.
I understand what you are saying. I go back to what I said...if they don’t get it...wave goodbye. They are missing a card or two.
I know.
But I am fated to find the humorless types, and they will usually spend days on end harping about it.
*chuckle*
Remember the “flying” SUV’s?
Every article about an SUV accident stated that the vehicle was flying.
So a few of us started cracking wise about the sentient SUV’s holding passengers hostage and such.
You should have seen the idiots then..
That would indeed be entertaining.
A bit of an update (with the usual YT production values; at least mixup98 is a gun guy).
Winchester 1873 Rifle Found In Nevada - What Happened To It?" [YouTube posted by mixup98]
"The wood is rotten and the barrel is rusty. I'll give you fifty bucks."
Nice Work,
Remember when Obama first got elected and there were many articles about bullets 'flying' off the shelves.
I'm wondering if the rifle was put there by a widow who inherited the gun, didn't know what to do with it, was afraid to turn it into the police.
