I haven't seen Travis Mcgee for a while. His last post on FR was on 6/15, and his (Matt Bracken's) last Facebook posting was the same day.
Anyone know the story?

Don’t know where he is BUT wherever he is.. I hope the sun is shining on his face.. he has a nice glass of some adult liquid that he enjoys... and is laughing and having a good time with friends. :)
I agree, and I too hope he is enjoying himself. The fact is any one of 99.9% of us on this board could go missing for a month and no one would notice, but Matt is very prolific, vocal, and astute, and in this day and age you never know what chicanery the powers that be might bring to bear, or if medical issues or whatever might be involved.
Some people might think I am being nosy (or “Gladys Kravitz” ffs) but all I wanted to hear from Joe or Squantos or a credible “old-timer” with real info was that he is all right.
Personally, I would have sent those you thought would know a private mail message to keep his whereabouts, private? OPSEC rules.

I completely understand. Some folks may not understand that we get “attached” to fellow FReepers like great friends. There are quite a few FReepers if they went “missing” for a month or so.. I would worry. After Travis gets back and hopefully with a great story about his adventures.. we can tell him “what?! You don’t write. You don’t call. We were worried sick” (well, that works on my teens anyway... ):) p.s being nosy is knowing a little bit of info and wanting the full story. Being concerned is knowing nothing and worried about health/well being. It’s in the Mom’s dictionary.
I hope he is writing another novel. His books are terrific.

Awhile back i loaned out my copies of the “Enemies” trilogy to a friend with instructions to pass them on when done. The books have passed thru several hands, from members of my church, to the police and sheriff’s dept., and a number of folks who frequent the shooting range.
Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive with people ordering their own copies of Matt’s books. In my opinion Matt’s Trilogy should be made into a TV series and would rival “The Walking Dead” in popularity.
That is, if we still truly lived in the “Land of the Free, Home of the Brave.” Matt Bracken is a prophet.
