Never even heard of it.
Probably because it’s something only the rich can afford.

Quinoa
Grain
Quinoa is a species of the goosefoot genus, a grain crop grown primarily for its edible seeds. It is a pseudocereal rather than a true cereal, as it is not a member of the true grass family. Wikipedia

I’ve tried it.
It’s basically seed-based muck when cooked.
Think pablum.

Well, she looks Indian so I assume she doesn’t eat red meat (cow). I disagree that the recipe is low cost. I have tried several brands of veggie burgers and TBH... I haven’t found one yet that was good.

The winning prize is eating with Moochie at the White House? Sounds more like she got the booby prize.

The poor little girl's mother put her up to this.
The mother just wants to be invited to the White House so she can drool over the Mooch's fashionable wardrobe.

And how are schools supposed to serve it on the buck-ten a day or whatever their budget is for the lunch?
To: unixfox
It used to be poor people food, specifically poor Andean people. Then the hipsters got a hold of it, and labeled it a super food. Tastes terrible. There’s a reason only poor people ate it for centuries.

What ever happened to rice cakes? When I grew up we could feed the whole family
on 5oz of food for a whole day! And for desert we had mud pies until the EPA came
in and told us that adding water to the dirt was regulated by the Feds and we were
under investigation for hate crimes against Gaya. Now we just eat air.
Someone in DC needs to openly tell these people to go F themselves.
