I had to look it up...

Quinoa

Grain

Quinoa is a species of the goosefoot genus, a grain crop grown primarily for its edible seeds. It is a pseudocereal rather than a true cereal, as it is not a member of the true grass family. Wikipedia

I’ve tried it.

It’s basically seed-based muck when cooked.

Think pablum.

It's gained favor as a hipster food a few years ago. Likewise, the term "Garam Masala" is a fabricated hipster set of words for "unknown exotic spices that you eat because you take selfies of yourself doing yoga".

I like quinoa... (pronounced KEEN-wah)... If I have some, I'll add it to broth with sausage and greens instead of something like diatilini or orzo. But still, I feel like I need to put on Clark Kent glasses, yoga pants and a Vinyasa scarf when I eat it in my kale soup.
