The FBI recently confirmed the identity of the Charleston church shooter as Dylann Roof, and not long after, photos from his Facebook page started getting around.
Marcus Stanley, the man who left the comment is a gospel music artist who was shot eight times, but by Gods grace survived the incident.
This, folks, is how you respond to a situation like this.
Using this opportunity to graciously reach out to this young man with the message of the gospel of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ brings all the glory to God, while demonstrating how Christ works in people to supernaturally forgive folks for even the most heinous of crimes.
While I absolutely do hope Roof is convicted of his crimes, and I believe he deserves the death penalty, I also long for his eternal soul to find salvation and hope in Jesus.
The reality of the situation is that all of us, like Dylann, are born dead in sin, and although not all of us will express our sin in the same way, we all, regardless of what our sin might be, face the same end result. Eternal separation from God.
Thankfully, God sent Jesus to die on the cross so that whoever believes in Him can be reconciled to Him, regardless of how awful theyve been in this life, and can live with Him for eternity.
As much as Roof needs to be punished for his crime, we should all be hoping he repents of his actions, because he is made in Gods image, the same as we are, and if we want that for ourselves, its only right we want it for others.

The supposed entry in psycho's facebook page.
Marcus Stanley... a true gentleman. God is pleased with you, sir.
There is just one comment that is viewable by the public. It is possible that there are many more that are only visible to Facebook friends.
So there is hope for this nation yet.
He’s a better Christian than I am.
Bump.
Whoever is on his Facebood is locking down the viewing and comments.
Me too.
Same here.
The FBI has more than likely seized his account. There is protocol for this.
Wow! Beautiful. He’s a far better Christian than I am.
Dang.
This is the definition of grace.
They do exist.
For some reason this reminds me of an incident I had with an overly cautious slow driver. Probably because this kid told them they were “ruining our country” when in reality he has no idea what these people may have done or sacrificed for this country.
I was already mad as a hornet that day and slow drivers were just making me more irate. One slow driver, an black guy in a new F150 was holding me up driving slow as crap. I was cursing evry name in the book and when I finally got around him and was about to honk my horn when I saw his Vietnam Vet MIA hat.
I immediately humbled myself and felt ashamed. This guy probably lived more and sacrificed more than I ever will.
The people that this kid hates have lived more and gave more than this kid ever will.
Great story envisio
Makes sense...
I’d been suffering from great emotional turmoil over my wife having left me a couple of months ago as the result her having had an affair with a longtime friend of mine who I’d known since I was seven-years-old. It was only days after she moved out that I found out they are now living together in another state. My anger, resentment, and hatred for the two of them carried no boundaries.
Today, Marcus Stanley has taught me a valuable lesson in forgiveness and what it means to be a true disciple of Christ. All I can say is, Marcus, I’m so sorry you’ve had to endure such a horrific and painful tragedy. Just know that your story and your eloquently graceful, merciful, and compassionate message to the person who attempted to take your life has now greatly impacted my life more than you’ll ever know. I now forgive my ex-wife and former friend and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me attain some much needed inner peace for the first time in many months. May God bless and be with you, your family, the souls of the nine deceased, and all those affected in your church family, sir.
God bless you!
