PRESQUE ISLE, Maine It is not uncommon for firefighters to get called to rescue a cat stuck in a tree, but crews in northern Maine recently had to rescue a cat's owner.
A woman climbed 75 feet up a tree in Presque Isle to try and save her cat, but then she panicked and called 911.
The fire department came with a ladder truck and brought her to safety.

If it will reach, hose water will work.
Every time.
Lol! AWESOME!! Ha ha!
I love the way he ruffles feathers!
Spray from below prolly not.
As others have noted I have never seen a cat die in a tree. They turn tail and go down when they get hungry (or bored).
If the cat is in a bush this would probably work
My parents’ one boy kitteh, Winston, one time “Treed Himself” and my mom was beside herself. Dad called a tree trimmer service and put him on speakerphone so mom could hear and asked, “So, you say you have been a Professional Arborist for 37 years. Now let me ask you a question... in 37 YEARS, how many CAT SKELETONS did you find?”
My dad’s designer was there in the home office, and he was a real animal lover. He refused to leave Winston out there, and he went out with an extension ladder and rescued him.
Dad, softened up afterwards... When Winnie died, he cried.
We love Paul LePage. He loves a good fight and is a great guy in person. Very much invested in what’s good for the real people who live in this state and honestly wants to hear from his constituents. He takes the fight right to the libs!

As long as he keeps Maine from sliding into the liberal nightmare like New Hampshire and Vermont.....all the more power to him.
Roxanne Quimby seemed to want to bring that liberal ooze with the power of her wealth, to change the Maine ethos more to her *liking*.
Great story. Reminds me when I was just a kid, my beloved cat climbed up an ancient maple tree. Every effort to coax him down failed....he only climbed higher and higher. To add to the dilemma, he yowled something fierce.
I was so frantic ....I cried and cried and was beside myself. After three days mom called the fire department.....they said.....*Lady we don’t do treed cats....suppose one of us fell and got hurt.* My dad couldn’t stand my fretting any longer, so he called a meeting of his Explorer Scouts and asked for a volunteer.
The smallest boy volunteered....or maybe it was his buddies that volunteered him....I can’t recall....but he wiggled his way through the dense branches and grabbed the cat and they both came down, safely, thank Goodness. To this day, Craig Barnes remains my *hero*.....wherever you are today, Craig...thanks again.
You never see cat bones in a tree.
We often wonder where the heros are. They are out there. Thanks for your story.
Well, I’m told we’re in the process of getting constitutional carry passed, which will be quite a coup for some grassroots orgs (Gun Owners of Maine for one) despite an enormous amount of money pumped into the state by the bloomberg nannies.
Paul LePage didn’t really have much to do with that , but it sure did my heart good when I went Augusta for the public hearing and saw the very large crowds of regular Mainers there to make their voices heard.
Our 14 y.o. daughter was with me and was very much cheered by it too. A good lesson for her about the legislative process and the necessity of holding their feet to the fire. Has sparked many discussions in this house.

Oh, I’ll give her a break - 75 ft is a long shot for a pellet gun...
Dude,I make 75 YARD head shots on feral pigeons
