I actually cannot believe what i am seeing in tesco!! People waiting for the reduced food to be brought out, fair enough. But the staff have to tell them to wait and stay back like you would a dog while your preparing its dinner, then have to be told to let the staff out so they don't get crushed when every one piles in....literally, how there was not a fight is beyond me. I'm actually lost for words that this can happen like that in a supermarket and is let to happen nightly.....you have to watch the video to believe it....

Remember the Cabbage patch riots of 84? Those were some dark times.

Heh, I believe it was '83. I worked retail that year at a Wilson's catalog showroom (later a Service Merchandise) in New Orleans East. Crazy times, indeed. Some of the warehouse crew tried to hide a stash of dolls that weren't delivered to the "secure products" cage. I found and moved the goods to a new hiding spot, leaving behind a typed ransom note. $20 per doll, or else they'd end up as coleslaw. :-)

And chicory in the coffee — if anyone remembers that.

And the words that would send terror through the streets:

The Beanie Baby bedlam of the 90's

People would commit suicide if you ripped the tags off their Beanie Babies! It was like Black Tuesday in '29.

I’ve been to a number of Tescos and Sainsburys in Britain in two trips over there. Can’t say I ever saw anything like that. By the way, their supermarkets were extremely well-stocked.

And I dare not mention Christmas Barbies or the strawberry shortcake shortage. Just a rumor of those dark times might be the end of the world as we know it.

No really fat people. A few plumpers but no truly obese
full figured lardballs like you see here or in mexico.
I guess the crown screens it’s customers, by using smaller
doors at the government store.

As another freeper pointed out. This is no big deal as you can go to Filenes basement for a bride dress and see the utter mayhem.

so true though. Watch a sale for Nike or Walmart or Filenes basement and people are nuts. This piece in the UK is not big deal compared to some of the lunatics we have here.

I did not want to bring up the shoe store shootings and massacres. Makes ISIL look civilized.

Feh...this is tame compared to the once a year bridal gown sale at Filene’s Basement in Boston.
