Katie Couric re-ups with Yahoo! for $10M per year

You can call Katie Couric the $10 million anchor.

That’s how much Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer is forking over to retain the Web portal’s global news anchor, several sources told The Post on Friday.

The new contract, agreed to in the last several days but not yet finalized, gives Couric a stratospheric annual pay package in line with that of NBC’s suspended Nightly News anchor Brian Williams.Only Couric is actually anchoring a newscast.

The 58-year-old journalist, who had been negotiating a second contract for the past few months, won a significant rise. While the new deal contains a few targets that need to be hit for her to reach the 10-figure pay package, it is a step up from her current deal — valued at $5 million-to-$6 million, according to reports.

Whoa, looks like the perky one is doing alright.

Perhaps she has a spot for Brian Williams.

Brian Williams’ helicopter was shot down by an RPG fired from a vast right-wing conspiracy while the helicopter was transporting Katie Couric from CBS to Yahoo. She was slung from four cables underneath the CH-47 or perhaps it was a Skyhook. Or the spacecraft from Roswell.

And the corrupt media has the gall to spout the Leftist line that CEOs of the biggest companies in the US are overpaid, when a mediocre personality such as Couric makes this kind of media money.

I don't get it, do people actually exist in this world who follow Katie Couric to the point where it would validate paying her and her hyena-like grin $10 million bucks?

There were women (and public libraries) that blindly bought the Oprah Winfrey book club selections.

Yes, these people exist and they vote.

What?

I’d do it for $1 mil, perform a genuine service to the American people, and look a damn site better than her.

Part of the 1%, no?

Oh, I get it...richly rewarded for spreading liberal propaganda talking points, so that makes them part of the "good" 1%...

I'm sure Hilliary, Bernie Sanders,Fauxcahontas, Jon Liebowitz and the rest of the MSM country club hypocrites will show their outrage at this wealth inequity...

Yeah, right...LOL, SUCKERS!

I took Yahoo! off as my default search engine a week or two ago on my oldest XP machine that isn't used for much browsing. Yahoo! had ticked me off on some issue.

I rarely, if ever, went to the home page, and only did it to help out the free av provider.

Not only did I not know, or at least not remember, that Couric worked for them, and is getting paid exorbitant amounts of money for I don't know what, but now she's getting a raise?

I realize that cost accounting isn't the sexiest of professions, but what exactly does she do to draw that amount of scratch? What's the ROI on her?

Almost any imbecile can read a teleprompter.

I’d rather see crack whores, hobos, and strippers do it instead of this no talent hack.

Say she does 240 shows a year.

That’s $42,000 a show.

She’s not even on TV anymore(her ratings sucked).

She’s on the internet on Yahoo AND NOBODY IS WATCHING HER.

Why the hell does this imbecile get 42K a night to read some words?

If a network paid random people 42K an appearance, THAT would push up ratings, be comical, and actually do some good for the common man.

Yahoo has cluttered up their homepage with junk, ads, and content making it unreadable.

I had their free email account service for years and was hacked so many times by spammers, I got sick of it. They never got a grip on it. Their board of directors couldn't figure out what direction to go and they finally landed on Mayer. I suspect she is pushing the stock up through attrition and cutting research-type services. I haven't really followed the organization, nor do I really care much.

Nothing attractive at Yahoo from a user, consumer, partner, or investors perspective - especially when they are throwing millions at her Couricness....
