Pat Robertson Tells Grieving Mother Her Dead Baby Could’ve Grown Up to Be Hitler
Mediaite ^ | June 9, 2015 | Jamie Frevele

A friend of a woman mourning the loss of her three-year-old wrote in to The 700 Club asking what to tell her friend when asked how a good God would let some ill children live but let her child die. In his infinite wisdom, Robertson said that God can see the big picture of life and probably killed her child before he or she could become Adolf Hitler.

Don’t believe me? Don’t think Robertson himself would have the gall to say such a thing to a woman grieving her three-year-old? Here’s the full quote:

"As far as God’s concerned, He knows the end from the beginning and He sees a little baby and that little baby could grow up to be Adolf Hitler, he could grow up to be Joseph Stalin, he could grow up to be some serial killer, or he could grow up to die of a hideous disease. God sees all of that, and for that life to be terminated while he’s a baby, he’s going to be with God forever in Heaven so it isn’t a bad thing."

Don’t let ‘em play accordions or drive them big tanks.
Let ‘em be preachers and hucksters and cranks.

Hitler, Stalin, and the historical circumstances that allowed them to be the monsters that they were are all so unique that ... meh, if only Robertson had the tiniest grasp of how history works.

Why did God take this woman’s child?

I was in grief recently... at the point of eating a bullet... screaming at God “why, why have you taken my wife?”... then it dawned on me...
She was never mine to begin with. She belonged to God all along.

.Pat Robertson is the archetype of Pre-Trib Dispensationalism.

Pat, and The La Hayes.

What a club!

Nikos, very sorry to hear about the loss of your Son. I believe that losing a Child is the hardest thing for a Parent to endure and understand. I lost my Son Thomas ten years ago when he was 20. I deal with it one day at a time and there will always be a hole in my heart. I know that one day I will see my Son again in God’s Kingdom for Eternity.

How can he stay classy?

He never was anything but a high-rolling false prophet.

Very sorry for the loss of your son.

Robertson’s comment makes no sense.

{{Hugs}} to you.

If this is the case, then why did God allow Hitler to live?

He’s the ‘Joe Biden’ of Dispensationalism.

I had a very dear friend die very suddenly at a very young age of a heart attack. Well-meaning Christians told me similar things. That maybe God had looked into his future and saw that he was going to die a long, slow painful death from some horrible disease and killed him quick to spare him that suffering. OK, if you truly believe God is capable of seeing the future and killing somebody, don’t you also believe He’s capable of altering the future to ensure the horrible disease doesn’t happen? When you’re the omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent God, surely there are better ways of handling an unpleasant future than just killing the person in the present. I don’t mean to sound disrespectful to God. I simply mean to point out that this line of reasoning defies logic.

Don’t be concerned when bad things happen to good people.
God balances it out by having good things happen to bad people.

Exactly.

If anything, I like to see those young children (who suffer so much) as angels on earth, sent to love us, to be loved in return, and to teach us something, such as empathy.
