An observation about legitimately deleted threads, and the propensity for such thread starters to complain about deleted threads:
When a thread is deleted, the only information about the deletion is by following a link to it - usually available only because the link was up just long enough to appear somewhere. Thing is: the thread creator is not notified, s/he just notices it's not there anymore - and if hadn't kept a link, it just disappears.
So... can I suggest that when a moderator deletes a thread, the thread creator be notified (PM or Ping) of the fact and a link to the thread provided (lest what little is left be completely lost).
Only if it’s UNC..
The mods mostly keep us from serious copyright violations, which is nice, because that saves FR money. They do a huge job, surprisingly promptly, and they do it cheap. I’m not going to insist that they add to their workload with explanations.
We’re smart. We’ll figure out what is going wrong. Eventually. Pretty soon, I’ll solve my own personal mystery: why do my threads with tasteful pics of Helen Thomas and “Caitlyn” Jenner frolicking together in the nude (from a Gannett news site) keep getting pulled.
there is zero tasteful pictures of Bruce Jenner dressed up as a woman.
I like when y thread gets pulled
Well, yes.
Pooled even.
All that splashing and stuff.
But I said, “frolicking together in the nude”. They weren’t “dressed up”. Is that better?
She-he has very ugly legs.
When a comment is deleted, I’d like to see the poster’s name remain.
It was an innocent, no blood and guts photo of the lion with it's paws on the passenger window just prior to the lunge.
It's the mods discretion.
My feelings aren't hurt.
Actually, it is the cycle of sacrifice, it feeds the otherworldly beings we know as “mods”.
It’s not about hurt feelings, it’s about just knowing why the thread disappeared.
The mods reason: No Thanks.
He/she/otherworldlybeing probably didn't even read the thread.
Whats a beeber?
No, in my case there was actually a problem with the link (sometimes copy-and-pasted doesn’t work as expected), and fixing & resubmitting was a perfectly sensible action; it just took a while to _find_ the original thread so I could see what the actual problem was.
I have it on the best authority that Hildebeast stole em.....
Meet ya at the Milk Bar ;)
Hope it’s big enough: GSM beebers use the SMS storage segment—30 messages, 160 bytes each :-)
As for me, my beeber stores them on the computer—if I move it to a different computer, it only shows me the messages I have opened on that specific computer.
If the airbrushed and modified photos are bad enough, as published, I DO NOT want to see the original slides, as taken by the camera. *shivers*
