If you want to research psychiatry that is based on little research you need to go back way farther than homosexuality. I suppose you could get right to Freud but then, I guess, you would be back to homosexuality, if that was where you wanted to be, anyway. Which causes me to ask why in the first place?

You can try the twitter feed and website “Gay Patriot” which is run by a couple of conservative men. I don’t know if they think being gay is a mental illness but they are dead set against the gay agenda. They also have a huge list of links to gay subjects (as well as non-gay issues).

Our niece “came out” a few years ago and is in an abusive relationship. She just takes it from this horrid woman.

Leaves me speechless as she was a confident, pretty, ambitious and smart girl. All of that has changed. Mental illness would explain it. Her sister is a capable counselor but is powerless to help.

I have one brother and one cousin who are gay; my brother is a full flaming weirdo that can't be trusted to be around the rest of the family's children. He is full-time obsessed with all things gay and no fun whatsoever to be around. He goes into towering rages at the slightest of reasons. There is literally nothing else in his life but gay activities and he insists on inflicting it on all of us (6 sisters, 3 brothers). He is a poster child for mental illness.

My cousin is a stable enough guy with a monogamous relationship and he is a distinguished government worker with numerous awards. I can't fathom gay anything, but he's fine to be around.

I personally believe that gay attraction is a mental illness or at least a profound defect. Both of my gay relations are dead branches on the family tree because they have been afflicted with same-sex attraction. Some handle it well but most don't.

“mental illness” is a phrase used to bundle up an entire gamut of mental issues. From psychopaths down to phobias. But most people think of “mental illness” as some NUTJOB to be “avoided”; as an “insane” person. It’s better to call the mental condition what it really is. To the best of my knowledge, homosexuality and lesbianism were always termed as “sexual identity disorders”. They never should have dropped that classification from the books. I think you would have more success finding homosexuals who believe homosexuality to be out of alignment with God’s will for man.

Some homosexuals are mentally ill, as are some heterosexuals. The question of mental illness, however, is a sideshow and distraction from the certainty that all homosexuals (indeed, all LBGT, etc.) are pridefully, assertively, actively, and resolutely rebelling against God and His will, which He has clearly revealed biologically, socially, and scripturally.
