Many have theorized on here that Rove was working to undermine Walker. As it turns out, his Super Pac is in talks with Walkers campaign.
This is from the article in the NY Times.
2013. A fund-raising advisory group formed by Crossroads after Mr. Barbours departure failed to accomplish much.
More recently, Carl Forti, the longtime Crossroads political director who simultaneously worked on the pro-Romney super PAC Restore our Future, in 2012, is said by four people with direct knowledge of the discussions to have been in talks with at least one 2016 campaign that of Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin, who is not yet an official candidate. Mr. Forti did not respond to an email seeking comment.
A history of personal tensions between Mr. Rove and Jeb Bush could further undercut the groups role in the presidential race, should Mr. Bush emerge as his partys nominee.

Ive had my own theory for some time, as have other Freepers. We think Walker is the default to Jeb.
..................
That role more naturally belongs to Rubio who has kept his amnesty staffer.
An amnesty staffer got on to the Walker campaign, was outed and instantly left.
So there is a difference.
No the knee jerk reaction to not my first choice in politician worship elevated to savior status must reign supreme
I believe the US Chamber of Commerce, they of illegal invader fame, was hid FIRST port of call in his funding and support search. Or close to the first.
Now if that isn’t being in bed with the enemy, considering their stance vs his ...ahem...claimed stance (for the moment) on immigration issues, I don’t know what would qualify.
A man cannot be serving two masters and for a pol, money talks.
That is exactly why I don’t trust Walker on amnesty. Thank you or the info.
He did hire and then fire an amnesty shill/PR person once the story got out.
He is friends with Reince Preibus and Paul Ryan. Both amnesty guys.
He was for amnesty himself unitl very recently.
“No the knee jerk reaction to not my first choice in politician worship elevated to savior status must reign supreme”
I’ve noticed this with some Walker supporters. Almost cultish in some instances. Facts don’t seem to get through.
Doesn’t matter if the source is a conservative one or not. Same reaction.
I don’t trust Ted Cruz or any other Republican, for that matter, on amnesty. Anybody who thinks Ted Cruz is any different on that issue than the rest of the GOP field is fooling themselves.
Kiss of death.
I don’t know what extent Freepers will go to this time trying to convince themselves something is something other than what it is but it’s stupidity to think a guy funded by the COC isn’t going to turn on illegal immigration and ‘evolve’. Especially considering his close GOPe Ties. He ‘evolved’ when the winds blew against illegals, he will evolve back when cash shifts the direction.
Anyone trusting him in light of that deserves another Romney.
Thats because his most vocal supporters were Rick Perry’s most vocal supporters and others from the Lesser evil crew.
Well are you really surprised to learn that Mitt Walker is the GOP establishment default candidate? I am not. I have always figured this was in the cards.
I couldn’t get through the interview.
Walkers” I took on the Unions” is beginning to sound like John Kerry’s “I served in Vietnam”.
I only want to know is where is “Where are the 250,000 jobs you promised when you paid 19 million dollars of taxpayer money to campaign donors?”. Why is Wisconsin Dead Last in job creation in the Midwest? Why is Wisconsin lagging behind the rest of the nation in job creation?
Why did state investigators auditing the WEDC you created and Chaired request a federal investigation? Why are your former campaign staff now doing time?
Who cares what Beck thinks? Until I get some answers to those questions, I don’t want to hear Walker’s shtick.
It's actually quite easy to me. They hate the Republican establishment more than they love their country.
Cruz’s position now is what it was in 2013 when he asked for an amendment to the gang of eight bill. NO Citizenship, Period!!
That’s his record. By the way, he is the only candidate with a 100% Conservative rating.
If you don’t trust any Republican, does that mean you’re voting for Hillary?
Actually we hate the GOPe BECAUSE we love our country. You might wish to learn the difference.
If it fits, you wear it.
