Not a credible discussion without reference to the fact that circumcision lessens risk for a number of disorders, not the least of which, HIV/AIDS.
It could assert that this is not a significant factor.
But simply to disregard it, is not credible.

I really have no use for Libertarians. They might have a grasp of economics, but they have no grasp of the social system which serves as the foundation for our economic system.
There is a reason why the Western world led the world in advancement and technology for so many years, and it is entirely because all social systems are not equal.

What kind of agreement? If it was legally binding she can be punished for not fulfilling it.

It’s obvious to me why the left would oppose circumcision.
It’s a tradition that God commanded to His people in order to show that they were His.

As long as they don’t command Jews to keep from circumcising.

“four-year-old son, Heather Hironimus”
The author either thinks the son is named Heather or needs to work on improving grammar.

Wait’...the kid is four years old and they are going to still circumcise him...?
Dad must be a sick bastard to still want to go though with it because he wants his kids penis to look like his...?

Silly me. I thought libertarians were big on the sanctity of contracts, necessary if they want to disassemble so much of the rest of government machinery.
If they throw contracts under the bus, what do they have left?
I guess you don’t have to keep a contract if you change your mind.
Comparing male circumcision to at least the more common forms of FGM is hyperbole. There are forms of FGM that are roughly comparable.

I thought the issue at the root of this was going back on the agreement with the boy’s father.

Male circumcision vs Female circumcision is apples to oranges.
They are not even close to the same thing.
Cutting off the entire head of the penis vs Female circumcision would be apples to apples.

I thought this whole ‘don’t circumcise’ issue was just a gay fetish thing, now it’s become a big liberal issue.
Oh wait...

Removing the foreskin on a boy hardly affects the anatomy, while significantly reducing his risk of contacting STDs.
Genital mutilation on a girl causes her significant physical harm in all case with no benefits.

Hironimus was imprisoned after she fled with her son, attempting to avoid the fulfillment of an agreement with the boys father... The woman kidnapped the kid, broke her contract.

I'm snipped, but I see no reason for the procedure in a modern society which practices good hygiene.
The argument that it carries some compelling health benefit is ludicrous. As if a man or boy can't wash himself.
If I had a son, I wouldn't have him circumcised. He, a Gentile, would remain as God made him.
If people want to cling to that tradition, then fine, but I honestly don't see why the pro-circumcision crowd is so dogmatic about it.
However, in this case, I believe the wishes of the father are relevant, and should probably govern the decision.
