It really works!

I peel them under cold running water so probably the same principal. The rushing washing in between the egg and shell helps.
I’m going to have to try this! My eggs always end up looking like the surface of the moon! LOL!
.
I’ve seen a similar technique with garlic.
Neat. And fast!
I wonder if it makes any difference if the eggs are just cooked or not. I like to hard boil several at a time and use them throughout the week.
Plunge into cold water for a couple of minutes, crack large end and peel.
Lovely eggs. Tender whites and creamy yokes.
Pretty slick. I’m gonna try it with soft boiled eggs. See if I end up with a mess and a bowl of Cheerio’s for breakfast.
A friend showed me a similar but easier process. Put the boiled eggs all into a collender. Run cold water over the eggs and shake the collender causing the eggs to bump together fracturing the shells. They then peel beautifully.
Tried everything to get easy to peel eggs and nothing worked for me until I tried the following method. I have literally peeled an egg that was still slightly warm using one hand. Perfect egg and no green on the yolk.
You need:
8-14 eggs
6-7 cups water in a 2 qt pan no lid
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup vinegar
Bring water, salt and vinegar to a boil. Add eggs one at a time (I use a spoon to set them in the pan without cracking the shell). Reduce heat to a gentler boil and cook for 13-14 min. They don’t get rubbery. Then, pour out the hot water, replace with cold running water and top with ice. Let sit for 15 minutes and they are ready to peel. So easy!
I just tap and roll cooled down boiled eggs on the side of the sink back and forth with the palm of my hand - keeping them wet with water before during and after - comes right off. A uniform roll will pull off the whole shell with the membrane intact.
Older the egg- easier it goes, but also works with fresher ones.
So, do the eggs have to be still warm from cooking, or does this work if they were cooked and put into the refrigerator for a while?
I am convinced this is because when we went on road trips to visit relatives, often Mom had egg salad sandwiches to feed us for lunch because Dad didn't like stopping somewhere. We had five kids in a hot, crowded car (WAY before A/C) and Igloo coolers didn't exist yet. The sandwiches were warm (a wonder we didn't get food poisoning!). We also usually had a lot of left over eggs from Easter egg hunts and we had to eat them lest they went to waste. To this day, I do not like egg salad, stuffed eggs or most any kind of eggs other than perhaps a well-made omelet or soft scrambled eggs with bacon or sausage though, lately, I am getting so I don't even like eggs any way they are prepared. I say it's all Mom's fault!
Y'all enjoy them, though! ☺
Anyone have a recommendation for a pizza stone. I'd found a few I'm considering, but many of the reviews complain of breaking. Anyone have a fave?
The EGGstractor!
Unfortunately, it gets poor reviews. Here's one review that offered an alternate method of peeling hard boiled eggs...FWIW...
To peel hard-boiled eggs quickly, CRACK THE SHELL A BIT, BEFORE PUTTING IT IN ICE WATER, OR UNDER COLD WATER. Doing this will get the ice water/cold water IN BETWEEN THE EGG AND THE SHELL, and not just on the outside.
None of these egg peeling ideas apply if you raise chickens. When my wife needs perfect looking peeled eggs, she has to go buy some eggs at the store. Fresh ones don’t peel clean.
