The Obama administration hopes to save the bees by feeding them better.
A new federal plan aims to reverse Americas declining honeybee and monarch butterfly populations by making millions of acres of federal land more bee-friendly, spending millions of dollars more on research and considering the use of fewer pesticides.
While putting different type of landscapes along highways, federal housing projects and elsewhere may not sound like much in terms of action, several bee scientists told The Associated Press that this a huge move. They say it may help pollinators that are starving because so much of the American landscape has been converted to lawns and corn that dont provide foraging areas for bees. [ ]
The plan calls for restoring 7 million acres of bee habitat in the next five years. Numerous federal agencies will have to find ways to grow plants on federal lands that are more varied and better for bees to eat because scientists have worried that large land tracts that grow only one crop have hurt bee nutrition.

Let’s be honest here. The only ‘bee’ that Obie cares about is a ‘do-bee’.
Piss off, Commie.
Um, no. H3LL NO.
Don’t do stuff to ‘improve’ anything on the federal land. Esp. coming out of Obama admin, you know it is ‘stupid sh^*’.
And don’t grab more land for bees or butterfies.
Indeed - turn the land back to private owners who will take care of it better because they have an interest in it.
Any excuse’ll do to grab up and control more land.
Oh no...since everything Obama touches turns to dreck, this is a death sentence for our precious pollinators.
EBT for Da Beez!
The “White man’s flies” as the Indians called them, are not native to the USA.
Oh no...since everything Obama touches turns to dreck, this is a death sentence for our precious pollinators.
How did pollination occur without them?
It’s the pesticides.
We could all use a dialing back.
Quite arguably, there wouldn’t be any agriculture in North America without them.
Probably birds, bats and other species of insects. But there was never agriculture on today’s scale here in the absence of honey bees.
Bees and Monarch butterflies are dying because of genetically modified crops (GMO’s).
The only way to save the pollinators from near-extinction is to remove the source of the poisoning.
Sadly, Monsanto and the Agriculture lobby are much more powerful than the bees and the butterflies.
Everyone likes puppies. Therefore vast swaths of land will be appropriated by the Federal Government using eminent domain and removed from development or natural resource exploitation for the puppies. If you don’t like this then you don’t like puppies, are a ‘hater’, and are microaggressing innocent puppies with sad eyes and party hats.
