At the South Carolina Freedom Summit, Donald Trump said that he would impose a hefty 35 percent tariff on American multinational corporations like Ford Motor Company, in order to stop outsourcing to China and elsewhere. According to the Economic Policy Institute, between 2001 and 2013 the U.S. trade deficit with China cost 3.2 million jobs, with the majority of the losses coming from the manufacturing sector.

It is about darned time, someone stands up for America for a change.
Hooray Donald.
Draw a line in the sand Donald.
Draw it very clear. And stand up for working Americans.
100%
It is important to remain Constitutional while getting what you want.
I think the congress would need to be involved if taxes are being raised.

He wouldn’t make it to the one-month anniversary of his swearing-in if he tried that.
the union thugs are giving Donald Dipsh*t a standing ovation.
And I’ll shut down the innerwebs!
Don’t make this just about unions.
I have never been in any union, and I might just give him a standing ovation as well.
Just saying...
if true, this is a significant development for the Trump campaign.
Go away Donald.
Run against Hitlery for the Democratic nomination, we know you gave her money. We know who you really support, you are fooling no one. Your a joke, and a liar.
Royal Decrees from another narcissist egomaniac.
It sounds actually like the article is interpreting what Donald had to say last weekend, a bit aggressively.
To tell the truth. :D
But it’s a catchy headline. This is a talk America should have been having 10 years ago. Before it because such a white-hot issue.
I was an industry salesman (fuels) to Midwest customers. They are fewer and fewer.
I remember the Shell lube rep in St. Paul (sitting in my office) saying when “American Hoist went out of business, so did about 100 small suppliers.
Some were Shell cutting oil and lube customers. When they closed, he retired.
Ross Perot was also an egomaniac, but his warnings about the loss of Americas industrial base have come true. I laughed at him, along with Rush. These days it’s Rush I have less use for.
I enjoying outsourcing to cheaper workers living in other counties.
My understanding of the current trade treaties is they have the equivalent of a suicide clause. If we pull out and decide to no longer honor them then our trading partners get to impose whatever levies on US goods they choose. We will have no say whatsoever. That means outgoing trade would screech to a halt. This would be a huge disaster.
Bush, wanting votes in Pennsylvania, imposed a tariff on steel. We were taken to an international court and lost. Our trading partners imposed punitive tariffs that were coordinated to hurt other areas Bush needed to carry. He quickly cancelled his tariff. We no longer have sovereign control over trade.
This is why I opposed fast track authority for Obama as he will not negotiate for a US advantage but will seek to hobble future US growth, power and profit.
Trade tariffs is the most likely means of forcing the US to halt the sale of guns.
Perot wasn’t a liar. Trump is.
The sort of Trumpeting...that the donald has done here...does seem rather...like One-Upmanship doesnt it.
it seems to me to have the tone of a royal decree, yes.
One problem for the Donald is, he is never going to get the nomination. He needs to concentrate on making himself available to work in the area of commerce in someone else’s administration. Donald Trump is not cut out to be a servant of the people. It’s not his temperament.
Well maybe if he promises me a unicorn.......
Why would Donald not get the nomination?
There is a HUGE segment of America who is increasingly, completely fed-up, with all of our businesses selling out America.
Huge.
It really seems they are selling out America. It does. Go into Walmart (or any other store), in any town, in any state, anywhere in America.
It is completely filled with stuff of every type, all of it made in China.
America needs to buy stuff from here.
