So, a rookie Wide receiver who didn't even make the play-offs beats out Super Bowl winner and awesome vet tight end Gronk. Seeing that Beckham was the 8th best WR in the league vs Gronk at 4th best TE, its obviously a demographic target selection. Good business decision, I reckon....

CBS Sports has apparently changed the headline.

On Wednesday night, it was announced that Beckham beat out Rob Gronkowski and will be featured on Madden 16's cover. Without this catch, there's probably no way he tops Gronk in any kind of vote [etc..etc..] What is the meaning of this gibberish?

No Pats fan here, but a healthy Gronk is a weapon that any team would envy. Once he was healthy and in game shape, they were unstoppable from there on. Ignoring other issues with ball manipulation, of course.

As long as they do not jinx JJ Watt by putting on the cover, I am good with it.

I wonder how the demographics would work if white people could actually refrain from something they live for TEN MINUTES.
they cant. basketball. Football. music. TV.
No matter how insulted they get, like when Oprah said to her core audience That their parents and grandparents need to die. It didn't hurt ratings

I don’t think sales of the game fluctuate with who is on the cover. It’s generally about making a good picture, and not demanding too much money.

Correct title is:
“Madden NFL 16 cover: Odell Beckham Jr. makes history, beats out Gronk”

Gronk don’t care. He’s got A Ring. Let O’Dell enjoy his photo-op.

Madden just didn’t want to have to put the dreaded scarlet asterisk that will forever be attached to the Patriots on his box.

That’s OK! There is the Madden Curse to think about. Patriot fans better rejoice that Gronk wasn’t picked!
