Are art museums welcoming enough to minorities? While it’s probably a question that never occurred to you since, if you are so inclined, you simply pay the admission and enter, it it apparently a pressing issue to some people.
One of those people to whom this though has occurred is first lady Michelle Obama.
At the opening of the new $420 million Whitney Museum in New York City, the first lady spoke of a “feeling of not belonging” in museums when she was a growing up on the south side of Chicago.

The Worst Lady is a racist idiot. I “lived” in WDC for 30+ years. Very rarely would you see any blacks in the museums all over the place (all of the dozens of Fed museums and some others are free). I guess their “culture” doesn’t include much culture.
Because she is so butt-ugly, she must hate anything beautiful...especially if it is white.......

They’ve tried this before. It usually results in exhibits being trashed, derelict hobos using it for their own purposes, restrooms with junkies, etc. Attempts to “enlighten” the unenlightened rarely work.
I look at Michelle and I think, “Black privilege”. She’s living a very comfortable life.

BTW I see more blacks in museums than I see in national parks such as Yosemite, Arches, Yellowstone, etc. Very few minorities there.

About 10 years ago I was interviewing for a position at Wells Fargo. The 20-something HR eunuch asked me what diversity meant to me. I replied with that quote. He looked at me as though I were a fewmet he had discovered in his Cheerios.
The last comment I made on diversity, to a corruption of junior VA bureaucrats, was something I read here: “Diversity is where nations go to die.”

The Philadelphia Art Museum used to let students in free on Sundays, but only with ID. It seemed to work, but of course that was before.
There is a lot of money to be made in the grievance industry.
