Are art museums welcoming enough to minorities? While its probably a question that never occurred to you since, if you are so inclined, you simply pay the admission and enter, it it apparently a pressing issue to some people.
One of those people to whom this though has occurred is first lady Michelle Obama.
At the opening of the new $420 million Whitney Museum in New York City, the first lady spoke of a feeling of not belonging in museums when she was a growing up on the south side of Chicago.

Your honky museums are Racist!
Code to the crew to burn down museums next. That’s how Obama passes along instructions.
Maybe the great Pagan Witch should start her own Black History Museum. Show burned jars of peanut butter from great riots of the past.
It is all about color with these people. I don’t notice the color of ones skin, as a rule, until they bring it up.
Re-writing history from the ground up.
Does she mention anything more substantive than that she felt uncomfortable?
Wait, wasn’t some lib in the news not too long ago - after an attack on a teacher or some such that minority kids (ie. blacks) act out their emotions physically, and we should just accommodate and accept that? So, wonder why a place filled with expensive and rare articles might not “welcome” kids that are more prone to physical violence? Hmmm???
Just utter vermin, no matter what she has to inject race into it solely to flame race relations. Yep, gotta get them blacks to riot no matter what so her Obammy can nationalize the police.
Oh dear God. This woman's entire existence is victimhood and grievance.
I have a BA in Art History.
I once spent a whole day in an art museum with a very educated friend, but her education was in music and mechanical engineering, not in history. To comprehend what you are seeing in an art museum, one must understand that art is an economic fossil of the period in which it was created. Lacking that knowledge, what you see makes little sense.
Where are most museums located? What a better way to make them tools of racial division? The speech means to attack white people who go to museums and to make them targets during riots for destruction.
Look at what ISIS does to antiquities, artifacts, and historical treasures? This is no off the cuff dumb comment. It's a message.
If Michelle felt like she didn’t belong in museums, could it be she doesn’t have the class to appreciate what’s in them?
Maybe she misread the sign and thought it was the whitey museum ?
It was fields and farmland as far as the eye could see, according to Hillary.
After what I’ve seen in Baltimore, I don’t want those people going anywhere near a museum.
Is that a rationalization to attack white people and make them feel unwelcome and worse?
Maybe. But that’s why I got as far away from those types as I could.
Given the lopsidedness of the violent crime statistics, you might want to be use more "rational discrimination".
