A Pasadena police officer has been charged with insurance fraud after appearing in an Ice Bucket Challenge video while out of work on a disability claim for a lower back injury, the Los Angeles County District Attorneys Office announced Monday.
Jaime Robinson, 39, pleaded not guilty on Friday to four counts of insurance fraud. Her bail was set at $40,000, the DAs office said.
She was accused of exaggerating injuries on two occasions to collect disability benefits, according to Deputy District Attorney Arunas Sodonis of the DAs Healthcare Fraud Division.
In July, Robinson allegedly appeared in a video posted online in which she was shown picking up and pouring a 5-gallon bucket of ice water over a fellow officer as part of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge that swept the nation last summer. She was out of work on a disability claim for a lower back injury at the time, the DAs office said.

BUSTED!
On job related disability or just plain SSI?
If on the job, they got him. SSI? Depends on if he’s a Democrat or not.
If you can bend over and pick up a 5 gallon bucket of ice water, then you can probably work.
Paging Captain Karma - Captain Karma, you have a cosmic payback holding on Line 1. Thank you.
See tagline.
There's no real oversight by their equally union paid HR depts. so these guys go on disability and remain out there while working in other jobs until they accidentally get busted,.........
