None for me thanks. I see no good reason to make alcohol easier to absorb

This sounds interesting. I would like to have some to make a few gallons just to play with.

I can see using it for the intended purpose, but also for some cooking. Hmmm. Lots of experimenting with this.

Good news for preppers, assuming the shelf life is good.

Great news for back packers.

A pretty great idea if they can get the flavor right. Camping out or going to the beach and don't want to haul around the weight in alcohol? If you have water nearby just add powder.

I don't agree with the discussion on the web, though. People are going to snort this guaranteed. The question is will they market a product for it?

What exactly is the point of this? If you want to drink, drink...and have a good time. This is because drinking has always been a social thing and in addition, alcoholic beverages have a flavor, a history and a social component that goes way beyond just getting a buzz. Sprinkling alcohol onto your glass of Perrier or even your breakfast cereal and milk is not the same as drinking.

To me, the packet of instant alcohol is a real step down because it is basically meant for using alcohol as a pill or a drug like any other.

Why do our politicians and government keep teling us we are a free country, when they grab every opportunity to make more laws that only restrict our adult freedom?

I still think I prefer Wild Turkey 101.
My favorite, in moderation due to diabetes.

Right after they start putting it in snowcones and and naming it the “Brain freeze of Death”.

Anyone remember Allen Sherman?

The Drinking Man's Diet

Oh, I'm on the Drinking Man's Diet
It came from a book I was loaned.
It's really terrific and quite scientific
And I'm half stoned.

For breakfast some cornflakes and vodka,
But cornflakes have carbohydrate;
So I don't eat those fattening cornflakes,
I eat the vodka straight.

Drink, drink, everyone drink;
It's not as bad as we used to think.
With every Manhattan your stomach will flatten,
So drink, drink, drink.

The Air Force invented this diet,
A fact which they hotly deny.
Of course they deny it, 'cause this is the diet
That got the Air Force high.
For lunch you can have three martinis,

What better lunch is there than that?
But caution: do not eat the olives,
'Cause olives make you fat.

Maketh zero sense.

The powder can absorb a maximum 60% of its own weight in alcohol. Making it a maximum of 37.5% alcohol by weight or, not that the term really applies, 75 proof.

What possible advantage does this much more bulky product have over liquid alcohol? Why not buy 75 proof vodka?

By the time you mix the powder with water you’re down to something under 5% alcohol as a drink.

I do not comprehend the concept of ‘powdered alcohol’. What exactly is this from a chemical standpoint, and what reaction is occuring with hydration of it?
