I can build any house, high rise, tear a truck apart and put it back together, but I just can seem to understand the HTML in the help sectiin Can some one show me the text how to post a jpeg easy? Thank you
Thats because this site was built with 1993 technology.
Dont get me wrong - I LOVE FR...
Its just so n freakin old!!!
Come on Jim! What do you need / how much do you need to get this site updated? Ill be happy to kick in!
It’s sooooo frustrating because I post at another site where you CAN use html any time you want. But adding a color or a pic or bold doesn’t change the format you wrote in. It just adds to your post.
In the photobucket app, when your photo is loaded (the photo you want is the only one in front of you), there will be a button marked Copy. When you push it, a box appears with various links. You want the one that says html. When you press it, you will have copied every bit of info you need, including the << >> , to just hit paste in the FR comment box.
If you want to write something to go with your photo, you may need a paragraph symbol to give separation.
Typically right after say you are going to make a statement < you say what you are going to be making a statement about. In the case of posting a image you say img src = (image source is) then you enter the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) for the image you want to display, be sure to place the URL in quotes! img src="URL" then you end the statement with />
You statement to display an image should look something like this
< img src="url"/>
There is a nice pic
If you want to be nice you can add a with=500 at the end of your statement 500 is a nice size for images on FR.
My statement to display that pic looks like this
< img src="http://images.fanpop.com/images/image_uploads/Eva-Green-eva-green-242707_1280_1024.jpg" width=600/>
I hear ya, jack of many trades here too,, and soon master image poster. ;-)
uh....... do you want to tell me what that paragraph symbol is and where it would go in relation to the pic or graphic post?
thanks again for taking an interest in our little problems here.
and you are right I finally realized that the pic from photobucket cannot just be highlighted but it has to be the only pic in front of me.
Also I didn’t think that maybe I could have used the preview function here before posting the post to see if the pic would show up on FR.
Yeah, the conventional wisdom was that you should specify an image's height and width so that the browser can proceed with the screen layout without waiting for the image to download, leaving an empty rectangle just large enough for the image. Later, when the image arrives, the browser can fill in the rectangle, resizing the image if necessary, and leave the rest of the screen layout undisturbed. If you don't specify the dimensions, then the browser can't know them until it receives the image, at which time it has to pop the image into the layout, causing things to jump around on the screen.
However, I've found it doesn't really matter that much.
Usually, if I specify a dimension, it is to achieve a layout objective. E.g., if two images are to be side-by-side, then I might force the taller one to the height of the shorter one. If they are to be stacked vertically, then I scrunch the wider one to match the narrower one. If the image is simply unreasonably large, then I might choose enforce a reasonable width. Or, ideally, resize or crop the image offline and post the modified version (saves bandwidth). Or google for an existing more suitably sized version.
Those pix must have been pretty far north, judging by their timestamps.
Northern Calif near the Oregon border. Taken with a trail camera at night ~
