VALDOSTA -- An Air Force veteran and former Playboy model who was banned from Valdosta State University on Friday after taking an American flag from a group of demonstrators is now organizing her own demonstration that she said is to show support for the military and the flag.
Michelle Manhart was detained but not arrested by VSU police after she took the flag from a group of protesters. She said she was not planning to take the flag from the protesters, but she had heard about the group's recent campus demonstrations and wanted to take action.
"I did not want anything like this, but I got a call from a student who told me that the flag was on the ground, and they were walking on it," said Manhart. "I was just going over there to pick up the flag off the ground. I don't know what their cause is, but I went to pick it up because it doesn't deserve to be on the ground."
The group reportedly elected not to press charges against Manhart, and campus police issued her a criminal trespass warning, effectively banning her from the school. She told The Valdosta Daily Times that she resisted arrest after seeing the flag being returned to the group.

Exactly!!!!!!!!!!!
Agreed, TN. When I first saw the video, I thought she was a patriotic vet standing up for the flag.
But then we learned what she herself did with the flag... She showed no respect for it, either.
And I’d say the police treated her with kid gloves. That was someone else’s property, even though that person was mistreating it. Still, if this vet truly were patriotic, I’d applaud what she did. As it turns out, what she did was hypocritical.
I thought her name was Deb...
Nothing says respect for the flag like posing nude and dragging it on the ground.
Attention whore.

The former SSgt is late to the game.
Just saw a report from WAGA-TV, the Fox affiliate in Atlanta. They’ve had a crew in Valdosta since the controversy began, and report that hundreds of people have been driving around town—and the Valdosta State campus—waving the flag and countering the protestors who desecrated Old Glory last week. Fox 5’s reporter also told Megan Kelly that the “lead” protestor is now being sought by authorities for threatening to shoot counter-protestors.
This is about jump-starting Ms. Manhart’s celebrity career which has been stalled since she posed for Playboy while an active-duty USAF military training instructor back in 2007. She knew it would jeopardize her career and bring embarrassment to the Air Force, but did it anyway.
The good folks in Valdosta have the situation well in hand. Ms. Manhart is free to join their effort, but she doesn’t need to lead a demonstration.
Exactly..... she cares more for her extra 15 minutes of attention rather than defending the flag
By her actions she has dishonored the military and the flag.
Disgusting
You’re saying ... see my own post? But ... I wrote it.
And you’re saying, I’m confusing that POS Bill Ayres, Obama’s criminal ghost writer, with an attractive young woman who served her country, and also proudly posed with Old Glory (”the rules”?) and also prevented dirt-bags from walking on our flag and took it from them ...
Uh, OK .... what? Hmmmm.
Whut?
Conservatives should keep this PETA perv at a distance. In an interview, she actually said she showed her 11-year old daughter her Playboy spread, saying there was nothing to be ashamed of. I wonder if she told her daughter was the mag would be used for by men.
Everyone has a come to Jesus moment.
