So far, it's 4-6 stores in different parts of the country, from what I can find on Twitter.
Design flaw or contractor issue?
Since they are built to spec, I’d say engineering glitch. Keel haul the architect.
Stores confirmed closed as of now, per Twitter:
Memorial Drive in Tulsa
Livingston, Tx.
Brandon, Fl.
Midland, Tx.
Pico Rivera, CA
One of ours is closing for “plumbing repairs.”
Yikes! This will be interesting.
Announced today a Wal-Mart in Midland, Tx closing for six months for plumbing repairs. Interesting. Good thing they gave out those raises before this happened./s
I don’t buy the “plumbing issues” explanation.
Wow, that’s a busy store. Luckily they are building a Super Walmart a few miles away. LOL
I would suggest a design flaw if it affects this many stores. Hard to believe something like this could happen with all the standardized plans. The evil corporations are usually very good with quality control in all phases.
That plumbing contractor is about to face a MASSIVE lawsuit.
You could build several Walmarts from scratch in 6 months.
Union problems?
FEMA makeover for Jade Helm? Tinfoil hat tightly on.
Video on the page shows workers holding a sign about 5 hours notice of layoffs.
530 Pico Rivera Walmart employees laid off after sudden closure of supercenter
Bobadilla said he didnt learn of the stores closure until 1:10 p.m. and later spoke to Eddie Iny, a representative with the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.
He said they were notified that there was an involuntary layoff of all employees at the store, effective immediately, Bobadilla said. Thats very concerning for us because a lot of those employees are city residents.
Garcia said all of the employees who wish to return to the Pico Rivera store will have to reapply for their positions.
Design flaw. Several someones have quietly been told they should seek opportunities else where and a few others have been told they got their silver bullet.
Just a guess as I don't currently work for them but these things happen.
