North Charleston Patrolman First Class Michael Slager, 33, has been charged with murder in connection with the Saturday morning shooting death of Scott...Summey said Scott was hit with the officer's Taser weapon, and they know that, Summey said, because one of the Taser projectiles was still attached...Reports state Scott attempted to flee, resulting in a foot pursuit. Officer Slager then deployed his Taser weapon to detain the driver but was unsuccessful, a spokesperson for the police department said...Police say an altercation then began between Slager and Scott resulting in a fight for the officer's Taser. During the fight, Scott allegedly gained control of the Taser to use it against the officer who then fired his service weapon at the suspect.

So he died from lead Poisoning..
After watching the video a couple of dozen times I was thinking that might be it, it was just a wild lucky guess of course.
this post scared me when I first glanced at the title. I thought the title was scot walker. I am a fan of Scott Walker as the republican nomination as president.
That ends the conspiracy theory about Slager having taser barbs in his leg and torso.

That could hurt him in a tight primary.
The video supports the scenario of the officer being tangled in taser gear, and thinking the perp has the control.
I’d have shot.
They are going to crucify an innocent cop here.
Please tell me you're not a working jackboot.
Anyone with eyes having seen the video sees the LEO in a shooting stance, feet about 12-18” apart, right foot to the rear. Hard to see how he was ‘tangled’ up in anything.
In parts of the video you can even see where the head holding the wires that connects to the taser body is dragging a few feet behind the victim. That’s probably why the officer’s taser shot didn’t work because the head pulled off and stopped zapping then.
So then we’re left with 8 shots fired at the victim’s back from a standstill stance.
Please tell me you’re not a working jackboot.
If you were tangled in taser gear, and you didn’t have control of the launcher, you would shoot, or you would be a fool at least, and dead at worst.
Oh, and by the way, you were just in a foot chase, a wrestling match, and who knows what else, with a guy who has a warrant on him, and has run, and is obviously desperate.
Since you refer to police officers as “jackboots”, can I refer to the perp as a violent criminal thug? Seems fair.
That's less likely to cause uncomfortable breathlessness than running after him. Have a heart. You want your cops to have energy left to hand out summonses for state confiscation of funds. Politicians' brothers-in-law need funding for their no-show jobs.
How tangled was the cop in the video? How far away was the victim? Which direction was the victim moving in?
Anyone who would shoot because the situation had gotten awkward, but was no longer a threat does not belong in a job which requires a gun.
Are they sure about this?
The wires on those tasers is something like 25ft
The video shows wires going from the officers torso to the perp, and there is a later photo of the officer with his pant leg up as though he was tending an injury. One theory is that there was a dart in his torso, and/or one in his leg.
If the officer was confused, upset, disoriented, frightened, or whatever, the perp put him in that state by running, and fighting with him. Have you ever been in genuine fear for your life? Time and space do weird things.
How likely is it that the taser would shoot the darts and they would hit Slager in a pattern four feet apart? Especially if done at close range?
Supposedly there is another witness and a still photo of the prep on top of the cop on the ground. They supposedly struggled for 2 minutes.
The cop is a cold blooded murdering JBT and deserves to die. Today if possible but I’ll wait for the inevitable conviction.
If you are in “genuine fear for your life” as you watch a overweight 50 year old running away then you need to reevaluate the meaning of danger.
