Over on The Vane, there is an article I discovered which discusses the old "chemtrails" conspiracy. Warning: do not read (lengthy) if you are stubborn about believing that contrails are really chemicals being mixed into the atmosphere intentionally by any of several clandestine agencies.
Like the IRS and ObamaCare, for example.
I am ex-military. Some aircraft, including helos, ARE painted black depending upon the mission parameters and aircraft assignments. Most are painted grey, however.

I used to talk to a real climate scientist at the coffee shop regularly. He would look up at the contrails and tell me if the upper atmosphere was dry or humid. If the contrails were persistent the upper atmosphere was humid and if the disparaged quickly it was dry. I would not put it past activists to manufacturer conspiracies to their own ends.
Army helicopters are typically green and they absolutely look black when seen from a distance against the sky. Is their some sinister purpose in some blackhawk flying around my town? No, the National Guard has legitimate training requirements and they frequently help flight for life, search and rescue, etc. in the mountains because blackhawks have a higher service altitude than most civilian helicopters
Even the most passing familiarity with commercial aviation makes it laughable. Imagine a system in an airliner, filler with a chemical to be sprayed.
The mechanics maintain it. The pilots operate it, the managers account for the chemicals which have to be produced, delivered, and stockpiled.
And all of this is done in perfect secrecy-
Best of all, from cropdusters, we all know that it is best to spray chemicals from 35,000 feet.
Its silly, but its actually damaging. When too many stories like chemtrails are believed, the populace is desensitized to the evil the Government really does. Like smuggling weapons to the Syrian ISIS/AL qeida. Or Fast and Furious, or using the IRS to suppress a growing political opposition movement, or of intercepting every single electric communication.
Idiot stories make it easier to get people to ignore the real crimes of weaponized government.

I hear you, mate. Most Navy and Air Force aircraft are grey with a white undercarriage, but some are painted dark blue for one reason or another.
When I was in, the first thing they told us trainees was that if we did happen to see any aircraft painted black, then we most certainly did NOT see any such aircraft if anyone asked -and most epecially: do NOT ASK anything about such craft at any time to anyone.
And all of this is done in perfect secrecy-
I've brought up the same thing to them. Also, imagine they are loading the deadly potion and hear that this flight is bound for Cleveland, home of the chem loader's parents. He still loads it up and keeps his mouth shut? Or the pilot has to spray right over his own house with his kids playing in the yard?

I can buy into some conspiracy theories to a certain extent but there is only one such I give full credence to:
The conspiracy being perpetrated the Progressive Liberal Democrat/Rino Communist Party to overthrow our Constitutional Free Republic.
Apparently only the last 4 seats (approx.) make the profit for an airline (for Southwest, anyway, in our modern economy).
Wouldn’t the weight of the product outweigh those four passengers and thus remove any profit for the airline?

Even the LAPD and I believe the SJPD (San Jose, Calif.) have at least one patrol helo painted black or dark blue. I am certain that other law-enforcment/revenue-collection agencies do as well.
You are correct. If something like this is or had been going on, there is no way it would have been able to remain a secret for any length of time. Too many HumInt variables for it to be possible.

I have a friend that buys all conspiracies. The chemtrails is one of the easier ones to knock down. The chemicals supposed to be in the fuel then why hasn’t someone just go to the end of the run way and take an air sample of the exhaust as it’s taking off? Real simple easy and anyone can do it.
The ones I see are US Army reserve.
I see mostly CDF where I am at now. Usually in the summer and late fall with their distinctive white and orange colour scheme.
