If this is something you want to do, keep it to pure tech (related to Microsoft if you want), neutral but critical if it demands it. Not the type of fanboy nonsense those guy like to.
It's something I've wanted to do for years, truly. I just kept hoping somebody else would do it first so I wouldn't have to. :) But yeah, exactly what you say -- keep it to the news, the pros and cons of the software and related products.
With regard to opinions, I'm not anybody's fanboy. There are things I like a lot about Windows, and certainly I have no axe to grind, like I said it has made me a lot of money over the years. I'm mostly interested in keeping up with the new releases, things like security issues, advances in the technology. I'm sure that from time to time someone will post a thread about the latest exploits of Bill Gates, and the list will get pinged if it's relevant to the company, but otherwise I would just as soon the list steer mostly clear of politics and social stuff. That ain't what Windows is about. It's just software.
There's plenty to talk about tech-wise, and that's why I've devoted my career to doing this stuff. I love the tech.

Well, I can't control or limit what fellow FReepers post, whether threads or comments, and Windows has its fanboys too. But I do hope it keeps down to a dull roar. :)
May I count you in?
I see VanDeKoik is starting in on you, in the same way he started in the Apple/Mac thread. . . trying to make it what HE wants it to be, rather than what the users want it to be. He wants to always define the topics his way. Too bad.
