The debate over whether a savory doughnut is indeed a doughnut has been settled, clearing the way for more innovations in the hottest trend in the baking industry. Behold, the Taconut: a spicy beef-filled cake, with covered in queso frosting, sour cream icing, guacamole, cilantro, and hot sauce.
The creators used a 3-D printer to develop a cookie cutter to create a doughnut shape out of raw biscuit dough.
The dough was stuffed with taco meat and deep fried before being garnished with a aforementioned toppings.

Right now, in the baking industry, the market for doughnuts is very strong, says Robb MacKie, the president and CEO of the American Bakers Association.
We arent like Microsoft or Apple, MacKie told CBS Chicago last year, but we are seeing four to five percent growth in the past 18 months.
In the baking industry, that signals a significant trend.
Doughnuts, MacKie said, are popular because they can be customized with a variety of flavors, are quick and easy to consume, and people may not necessarily feel guilty about eating just one
Well that’s kind of disgusting.
NOPE!!
So, a chimichanga with a hole in it.
I want my junk food categories kept separate — salt & fat on one side, sugar & preservatives on the other ;-)
Cilantro tastes like soap. Doughnuts should not taste like soap.
Are we talking Palmolive with a nice, piquant after-dinner flavor-heavy, but with a touch of mellow smoothness.....or Lifebuoy?
And everything falls through the hole.
Where are these being sold?
YUK.
Ralphie ?
Sweet, salty, spicy. Good taste combination.
Sadly, I am not a fan of “spicy” stuff. I use herbs and spices in my cooking, but queso is HOT - and I really don’t like that.
But, people who do like spicy and a hamburger should really like this.
If there’s a hole, somethings going in it.
Yuk !!! There goes my appetite.
.
"I told you not to use Lifebuoy!"
Flo is indeed hot. And cilantro is grassy, herby Mexican goodness.
Agreed, remove the sour cream.
