Beaver dams are causing a problem in Beaverton, Oregon, in the Beaver State.
SNIP
The Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District knows better than to dismantle the dam, because the animals would just build it right back up again.

I believe you re the beavers and the power company.
Had my own dead tree problem, but no beavers - just a lazy landlord who wouldn’t remove a dead tree that was positioned to fall on the house I was living in. After numerous ignored attempts to get the situation fixed, I got another house.

Beavers actually do make for good eating!
Some people have trouble because of their distinctive and powerful odor...it's an acquired taste.
Wonder what Laz thinks about it?

Thanks Beav. Whitey and Gilbert will get it, but don’t waste your time with Larry Mondello.

Once you have it skinned and stretched, yes—beaver must be cleaned properly or it really does have a strong, gamey smell.
Let it stew for a while and it tenderizes, it makes a tasty ... if you can overcome your gag reflex, maybe by candle light. No, it’s not happening.

3rd Quarter Teacher’s Report Card Notes
Mr. And Mrs. Mondello gave Larry wonderful sack lunches and bought Larry new books, but he licked the glue and ate the covers from the books during class. I think he may be a ‘tard.

I can relate. I’ve been on night duty during snow/ice/sleet storms and have seen some crazy stuff with trees. I’ve convinced my wife with my stories that there will never be a tree tall or close enough to hit any house we live in...ever.

You prefer nutria?
Beaver and nutria are good eats. The trick is soaking the meat overnight in milk to remove the gameness...
Seriously that is a complete joke. I heard a former coworker say that once.

Believe me, it keeps me thinking. One of the attractions to our house when we bought it was that there were beautiful yellow pines all around the yard that were so tall they probably span two zip codes. Then after we signed the papers, I saw the slope of the land, did a little mental geometry, and..................uh oh. I've been hankering for a log home for years, but
really..........

Well, in the interim, I can sell pine straw by the bale. (One good fall raking, and it looks like a front yard of haystacks.) And the pine cones are so prolific, they make great fire starters and Christmas ornaments if you know how to craft and use paraffin properly. The missus and I are thinking about starting a side business making and seasonally selling such......we'll escrow the proceeds for the new roof we may need. LOL
