About that Measles Hype

The measles "outbreak" in Disney infected 67 people. There are 97 confirmed measles cases right now. Over 40,000 people visit Disney EVERY DAY. California has a population of over 30 million people. Do you really call that an outbreak? No. Do people not yet realize how the state-run mainstream media overhypes everything? Also, take in this fact...close to 10% of those infected already had their vaccines. Since 1995, an average of 1 measles-related death per year has been reported.

Let’s dive deeper into this recent "outbreak" and sort out some facts that the government's propaganda service won't report. Dr. Anne Schuchat of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that the virus most likely originated overseas...from the Philippines, to be exact.

When measles was basically wiped out in North America until about a decade ago? Yes, that is an outbreak.

Never was it truly wiped out from America, just reduced to smaller number of cases per year (hundreds).

Yeah, I know, it’s the same as figuring I should be scared of perhaps one or two severely immunocompromised people out of over 300 million in the U.S. dying, when: thousands die from antibiotic resistant bacteria every year, that we don’t have anything to do but contain the person until they die, whereas even with measles, there are antiviral medicines that keep the virus weak. The measles hype is heavily emotional, if anything else. Even someone who got measles with a vaccine and a booster in 1995, AKA myself, probably has a longer-lasting immunity than a shot alone would give me thanks to that happening.

Yes, but with a disease as virulent as the measles, that number of cases across a country the size of the U.S. means the disease is practically eliminated. Not completely, like smallpox, but nearly so.

I’ve yet to see any data attributing measles outbreaks to illegal immigrants. Other diseases, yes, but this measles outbreak seems to be directly traceable back to native anti-vaxxers.

Practically eliminated... So it’s not going to kill 23,000 Americans this year? Or 50,000 good to know. Thank you for proving that this disease is being overhyped. I am glad to hear it.

I know exactly what past tense is. You SAID (SAID is a past tense word BTW) that measles WAS (PAST TENSE #2) a practically eliminated (PAST TENSE the third) disease. Any other lessons on grammar for you today?

Any demographic group that can bring in diseases thought to be previously eradicated in the modern world, is capable of bringing in measles.

If the CDC doesn't show specific traceability there is still anecdotal data from Border Patrol agents describing rashes and other diseases in children at detention centers and were directed to stop disclosing that information by their bosses..

Also, the timing seems to be more than just a coincidence.

Read the article. This was the B strain of measles. It came from Asia and the MMR is less effective at actually protecting against it, which the MMR uses genetic material from strain A

I did read the article. The source is the Phillippines and far east. Don’t you think a few of them could be in the illegal immigrant mix? The borders are wide open, anyone can get in and stay.
