The Phillies were a pioneer of the steroid era back in the early 90’s. Remember when Len Dykstra went from wiry little guy to Charles Atlas in one off season. Now that these players are hitting their late 40’s and 50’s, makes one wonder if the effect of steroid abuse is raising its ugly head. What horrors are we going to read about in the 2020’s. But on the other hand, since the early pioneers were using stuff meant for veterinary use, maybe not.

IIRC, NFL Football star, Lyle Alzado passed away from brain cancer that was said to be tied to his use of steroids.
