Fox News host Bill O'Reilly responded again Friday to allegations made by "Mother Jones" that he lied about his coverage of the Falklands conflict in 1982.
Thursday night, shortly after the allegations were published, O'Reilly came out blasting, calling David Corn, one of the authors of the piece, a "pig" in an interview with The Sun.
Friday in his "Talking Points" memo, which was to be broadcast at 8 p.m. during his show, O'Reilly quoted from internal CBS memos that he says he found last night, which back his version of the coverage he provided for the network 33 years ago.
Earlier today, "Mother Jones" had emailed O'Reilly a list of questions about his coverage and asked him to answer those rather than attacking Corn.

Yes. Not a fan either, but whatever semblance of a publicity manager in me tells me he just needs to tell them to put up or shut up, just one time and let it go at that.
I agree. That false Bush narrative hurt our troops, and patriotic Americans, much more than it ever hurt GWB.
A Commander in Chief should never again abandon our troops like GWB did.
I may start watching BOR again. Where’s the popcorn.
I remember the Bill Clinton “a bl@w job is not an impeachable offense” mantra (even by 4 or his cabinet secretaries) and all of the “these Presidents screwed so and so (some even [ooga booga] slaves)” crap.
To hear them tell it every President was a complete horn dog who couldn’t keep it in his pants.
They are actually attacking him because the left - like children - handle an attack by digging up something that someone else has (or hasn’t) done in order to deflect the heat.
The left is punch drunk over the Brian Williams story. They are attack those they view as conservatives (even though BOR is not a conservative) to try to deflect attention.
He has been asking Christians to be more vocal to our legislatures to stop the killing of Christians abroad. I actually liked him for that moment I was changing the channel.
Go, Bill! Punch them in their snotty, low-IQ noses! The LEFT side of the Bell Curve is sooooo jealous of those on the RIGHT. Who can blame them, really?
There are millions of democrat operatives who are willing to lie for the cause: destroy the enemy on the right.
It works like a charm with uneducated, uninformed, inbred, mouth-breathing losers like the vast bulk of the American voting public.
I understand why you said that, but that kind of view of your fellow Americans is abhorrent. We know Obama and Hillary feel that way about us, at best. Do you feel the same way? Then you don’t belong here, either.
Most Americans are low info voters. Not because they are stupid. Because they trust the media as much as they trusted mama’s boob when they were born. THE MEDIA IS OUR PROBLEM. Low info voters are misinformed and uninformed. They are busy. They are welding, selling, caring for relatives and children, cleaning toilets, building businesses, trying to find work.
We need to beat the media.
MJ’s screed is not so much a defense of Brian Williams as it is an echo of Hillary’s “What difference does it make” regarding the credibility of the entire visual-media journalistas.
They all do it. Oh?Really? does it.
Nah, nah, nah. Boo-boo! Neener, neener.
What a bunch of children.
‘Arrested development’ is the most descriptive term regarding the progressive/liberal/dhimmicrats I can think of.
Excuse my falling preposition...
O’Reilly should have waited for CBS, CNN and NBC to join into Mother Jones’ argument and then lowered the boom on them all.
Would’ve been a much greater victory.
I often watch O'Reilly. Many times I disagree with him. Many times I agree with him.
To me, if O'Reilly's only reporting "sin" occurred way back in 1982 about a war far away Argentina between The British and Argentinians that most Americans cannot remember and had little interest in, then I say this: Compared to liar Brian Williams, O'Reilly is a trustworthy reporter .
The year 1986: If mother Jones wants to go way back to the 1980s to discuss a serious problem that is in the news today, how about going back to 1986. That is the year that Congress passed an immigration bill that supposedly would solve all our illegal immigration problems forever and ever.
We know how terrible that law turned out.
Mother Jones hit him in his Achilles heel...his ego.
They couldn’t have picked a better target with a gps falafel.
That doesn’t work in this environment. The false accusation will be the only thing heard. You have to aggressively defend yourself or you’re done.
I would run a show with every retraction Mother Jones ever made and show what kind of “journalists” they are.
Respectfully, I disagree. Obama sluffs off criticism like swatting one of the too many flies that linger with him (why is that?)
I think conservatives of any sort should take note of how liberals, progressives, madmen deal with criticism. Listen to it and then respond with bullshit and attack - relentless attack. People laugh about “tell a lie often enough it becomes the truth” but it is true. Water off a duck’s back. Like Wasserman-Schultz, like Obama, like the hundreds of other ghouls surrounding Obama. Sluff it off and move on to what you want to say.
Has anyone noticed that David Corn doesn't look very human? The word "simian" comes to mind.
Does anyone know why Bush did not correct the lie? I remember feeling devastated at the time. Maybe we should ask Dana Parino why bush lied. It’s confusing
Per Rush, GWB didn’t want to diminish The Office of the Presidency get into small arguments with the press and others.
I don’t know if that was the reason, but in any event, GWBs judgment was way off.
