TeaParty.org
TeaParty.org email communication | 02/15/2015 | Self

I’ve been receiving e-mails from TeaParty.org, with someone claiming to be CEO. I didn’t know we’d gone formal or had an election for a leader; I thought we were like the unorganized militia instead.

Is this just another of the “gimmie money” things we get every day, or is it a worthwhile endeavor?

My advice to you is to support INDIVIDUAL candidates and campaigns with your money. Frankly, I’ve looked in to these tea party related organizations and I have a personal opinion is that a lot of it is all about personal enrichment of the organizers. The names are all so similar and slightly different and it is extremely hard to sift them (wheat from chaff). So my view is to forego giving them money to support conservative candidates but to support the candidates directly.

Gaffer is right. There are a lot of these “tea party” organizations that sprung up early on. As far as I can tell, few of them actually do anything. They all want your contact info to sell to candidates - and your money, of course. Ignore them, do your research on individual candidates and support those candidates directly.

The contact # i could quickly trace back to a Mail Center in Laguna Hills, CA. and their PO BOX is in Washington DC (probably with an auto forward to CA).

Someone posted to donate directly to a candidate, and i agree. Or a PAC you are sure about.

Fund your grassroots candidates DIRECTLY!

In Colorado we are winning!

At the County organizational meetings our grassroots “bonus members” are wining over 85% of the seats for ousting GOPe leadership.

We have to wait until March 14th to see the final results, but be prepared to see Steve House replace Ryan Call as GOP State Chair.

Every one of these organizations can be compared to the federal government: All your money goes to a central organization and they do with it what they want, without further input from you.

You are absolutely correct: give money to the individual candidate or the local cause that you support.

I agree. Give money directly to worthy candidates and proven PACs.

The Tea Party movement is very strong in this area so its mostly organized by county, here in Idaho. while there is no defacto leader to organize the different groups, shared goals mean that they tend to work accomplishing the same thing on state level.

Our orders don't come from the top down nor do I think they should there area lot of local as well as national issues and its important to have folks meeting and working from the grassroots up.

That said, I have never heard of TeaParty.org so I can't help you there.

APPROACH WITH CAUTION

Many groups and individuals have usurped the ‘tea party’ name.

There have been rumors that some left-leaning persons/groups have created organizations that claim to be ‘tea party’ to raise funds.

The problem with the concept of an unorganized bunch of patriots becoming a force for good government is that it is such a utopian vision that it is bound to fail.

It is inevitable that some folks will attempt to take charge and organize the impulse of the concerned folks and some of them are not going to be alturistic, but will be in it for the money. We’ve seen a number of so-called and self-styled “conservative leaders” in the past who’ve largely been in it for the financial rewards of mail solicitations for cash.

A quickie search of the Web and of the Newsbank online database did not turn up much information about TeaParty.org or Steve Eichler, listed on its "About" page as its CEO. However, in an article published in the Examiner last year, Victor Medina charged that the group is a for-profit organization. Medina also writes for Yahoo News and runs the "When Liberals Attack" blog. You can read the article here.

In any case, caveat lector.

Hear! Hear! The best advice of the day, week, month, year, and decade.

Know exactly where your hard earned dollars go, and if/when you give to committees with "nice sounding" names, how much of the money is skimmed before the remainder goes to your presumed destination.

Probably the same group that keeps calling my house phone and won’t stop even though I’ve told to take my number off there list. They show up on caller id as teaparty.

By simply going to the site, you can learn it has prominent adds for Dr. Jerome Corsi.

Going further, there is an index of TP groups. Checking for my area, the link leads to:

“The Meetup Group you’re looking for doesn’t exist.”

But be sure to buy Corsi’s latest book, and send the website some of your hard earned money, too.

In other developments, Tea Party Express pounds my email, with calls to fund candidates and causes. Further research reveals TPE is headed by Sal Russo, longtime established California political fundraiser.

No leader exists, except self appointed ones who should not be soliciting money for his/her agenda and personal gain.

Here's some info on some randomly selected PACs that were analyzed to see how much of what they collect actually goes to candidates and relevant causes.
