At about 5:10 pm Pasco Police arrived in the area of 10th and Lewis in response to a complaint of a disturbance where a male was throwing rocks at cars. As officers made contact with the male suspect a confrontation started. Two officers were assaulted by the suspect and a Tazer was used but not successfully.
The suspect continued to not comply with the officers and at one point threatened them, forcing the officers to fire their handgun. The male died at the scene.

Watched the youtube videos, know that area of Pasco. The interview of the couple was in the Fiesta Foods parking lot.
Pasco, WA has a large hispanic population. Whether this has any bearing on this shooting remains to be seen.
One thing I did notice is that the guy was running AWAY from the police when he was shot. If he didn’t obviously have a firearm, and was brandishing it, all of those police officers could have easily tackled the guy and subdued him if they wanted to.
It may well have been the right thing to do but I argue with the use of the word, “force.” The officer was not forced to shoot. His hand was not forcibly manipulated by a power outside himself to push it down and close his fingers around the pistol then to bring it up and shoot. He was impelled to shoot, not forced.
“the guy was running AWAY from the police when he was shot”
Backshooting.
At least the cops got home safe.
Tazer didn’t work on him? Day-yum.
One thing for sure is they showed him who is boss. Myself? I would call it murder, but the slaves have to be taught their place. And the police will tell you that they were in fear of their lives. And for good reason. The Hale Bopp Comer could have hit anyone of them on the head without warning. Or they could get hit with a D-.
If believed a suspect is fleeing to commit a deadly felony they can be stopped with deadly force. That could be the case here.
Crowded intersection with long clearance behind the rock-thrower, and they fired 5 shots. None of the shots appear to have hit the rock-thrower. I wonder if the police considered their backdrop, as anyone who has taken firearms training would. Would be a shame if while trying to apprehend a rock thrower they killed an innocent bystander.
Having now viewed the video, I disagree that it was a back-shooting.
I do question the wisdom of having about 6 cops chase and then shoot dead a rock-thrower.
That’s their idea of a good use of deadly force? A guy who is running away with a rock in his hand should be shot for raising the rock? Man. That’s a low standard.
It just... ...STARTED.
Perhaps they should look at the cops for that killing, too.
Hispanic Lives Matter
Not as much as Black Lives,
Of Course,
But they DO Matter.
Let’s see what being actually hit by a rock has to do with it, it would have been nice to have a rifle that shot lightning bolts though, too bad you can’t control where lightning is going to go like you can actual bullets, or shoot lightning from your fingers like they do in Star Wars...
