ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- Bottles of Walmart-brand echinacea, an herb said to ward off colds, were found to contain no echinacea at all. GNC-brand bottles of St. John's wort, touted as a cure for depression, held rice, garlic and a tropical houseplant, but not a trace of the herb.
In fact, DNA testing on hundreds of bottles of store-brand herbal supplements sold as treatments for everything from memory loss to prostate trouble found that four out of five contained none of the herbs on the label. Instead, they were packed with cheap fillers such as wheat, rice, beans or houseplants.

The article doesn’t mention WHERE these pills were manufactured. China . . .
You are getting ripped offf big time.
You mean you put stuff on you kids but know not what it does to them?

The deadly poison in traumeel cream and you expose your kids to it.
The scare some years ago over some Chinese manufacturers adulterating their products, both baby and dog food, with poisonous chemicals shocked a lot of US retailers. So they instituted random product testing. They do not want to face a gigantic class action lawsuit.
I noticed in the article that Wal-Mart’s immediate response was to pull supplements from its shelves in New York. This suggests both a CYA, and shows they are cynical about this whole process.
My own suspicions were raised when they mentioned the blackmail organization, the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI). I suspect that this scientist is working hand in glove with them, or possibly getting some funding from other sources, like big pharma.
Same old arguments. In my experience, it reduces pain, swelling and bruising.
Absolutely.
I love that. First you claim there are no meaningful ingredients left and then that is deadly!
Where are they stacking all the bodies??
“I love that. First you claim there are no meaningful ingredients left and then that is deadly!”
Take your pick!
1. You are paying $17.00 for a tube of petroleum jelly, or
2. You are poisoning your kids.
No amount of science will ever convince a ‘believer’ that homeopathy is pure scam.
A lot of this comes in from China. Glad they are checking it out, finally.
Well, you’ve predecided it is a scam.
I am telling you that I use one thing and it repeatedly works. Swelling goes down and bruises disappear. That is why I bought it. If making swelling go away and bruising disappear, is a scam to you, I don’t think you know what a scam is.
Your lack of understanding why it works and your denial that it works are based entirely on some things you read online. I think you are the “true believer.”
“Well, youve predecided it is a scam.”
No. I decided based on the scientific evidence.
All those fancy ingredients amount to only a few molecules that won’t even penetrate the outer layer of the skin.
“Your lack of understanding why it works “
LOL.
“. Swelling goes down and bruises disappear.”
Normal process of the body healing itself.
“Well, youve predecided it is a scam.”
The basis for homeopathy is that if you are poisoned, you take more of the poison to cure you!
Really? That makes sense to you?
“I am telling you that I use one thing and it repeatedly works.”
There are more molecules of heavy metals including lead and mercury in the cream than there are of the listed ‘active ingredients’.
“All those fancy ingredients amount to only a few molecules that wont even penetrate the outer layer of the skin.”
And you’ve summed up your lack of understanding quite well. Thanks.
Couldn’t come up with a valid response, heh?
