Sen. Joe Donnelly, Democrat Indiana, described what his position is as a senator
"I am the hired help, and my top priority continues to be addressing the issues most important to Hoosiers: working to strengthen the economy for working- and middle-class families, ensuring our servicemembers and veterans have access to the care and resources they deserve, and providing excellent constituent services to every Hoosier.
Does he do windows?
Well, in all fairness, it’s a better view that Pelosi and Reid’s “I am above you peons.”
Of course, whether or not he really believes it is in debate...
With that attitude, my guess would be he hasn’t been in D.C. very long.
He really doesn’t give a damned what his constituents want. He believes that his agenda was elected with him.
He was first elected in 2006.
Usually they call themselves “public serviants” when they are nothing of the sort.
Hired help is more akin to what they do, although “sanitation engineer” would be closer to the truth.
