Indianapolis Colts linebacker D’Qwell Jackson, who says he didn’t snitch on the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game, told NFL Media’s Jeff Darlington that Brady was using a Colts football at the end of the first half Sunday night. Jackson spoke to an official, who said they couldn’t locate a usable football, during a TV timeout when the Patriots had the ball. Later in the first half, Jackson noticed that the Patriots were using Colts footballs.

Written by someone who understands game management, and thus, the game. Great post.

Amendola’s punt return was from the Colt’s allotment of balls, not a deflated ball....

C’mon— the Colts were the #1 passing team in the NFL and the number #22 rushing team (out of 32 teams).

The Pats are the 9th ranked defense in the league against the run and only the 17th ranked defense against the pass.

The game plan, for the Colts to win, is pass, pass, pass....

From Breightbart

Tom Brady on Deflate-Gate: This Isn’t ISIS.

Not that I care for Brady but he does have a point.

The Pats were stealing the Colts’ stuff?
Man, that’s pretty low for a host team.

Agreed...under normal weather conditions...

'Twas anything but normal.

Hence, if you review the first almost 11 minutes of the game, the Colts were still running the ball 40% of the time (6 of 15 plays) and averaged 5 yards per carry on those running plays...they weren't being "stuffed" by the Pats.

THEN with about 4:15 left in the first quarter, what changes that balanced rhythm?

Why it's "Deflady Brady" passing deep left to S.Vereen to IND 17 for 30 yards. That sets up a 12 yard deflady Brady pass to Edelman...and two plays later, TD...14-0.

SOOOO...the Colts, then...for the rest of the half...run only twice...and pass 10x...And then, pass it 10 out of 11 plays in the third quarter.

The Colts, due to "Deflady Brady's" illegal antics, go from running the ball 40% of the time to running it only less than 17% in the first half after falling behind 14-0 ...and, of course, even less than that as the game moved along.

And who would believe that "Deflady Brady" -- as long as he has Q'd -- couldn't immediately notice the underinflation early-on. He doesn't pass the "straight-face" test -- even if his coaches might.

Ball boys are nominated by the teams, but they are NFL employees and paid by the NFL... :) Look it up. I was surprised to find this out as well.

Bottom line— The Colts didn’t cover the spread. I’d be pissed too if I had money on the game....

"Just as passes were easier to grab and run -- so was his punt return of 30 yards."

Balls for the kicking game are different than the balls for regular play.

Do you have info that the kicking balls were deflated as well or are you just assuming such?

In the first half, the Patriots completed one pass for over 8 yards (30) and I believe it was a short pass with a long run after catch. On the one drive the Colts scored on, they actually threw for short yardage, instead of throwing downfield. The conditions favored throwing short, if at all. The other long ball by the Patriots was intercepted. Both teams appear to have completed about the same percentage of short passes. No advantage that I see here.

Luck had two interceptions and the Colts lost one fumble. The Patriots had one intercepting and recovered both their fumbles. I am not sure on the kicks, but that is a shared pool of balls, so does not count. I see no advantage in hanging on to the balls there.
