Agreed...under normal weather conditions...
'Twas anything but normal.
Hence, if you review the first almost 11 minutes of the game, the Colts were still running the ball 40% of the time (6 of 15 plays) and averaged 5 yards per carry on those running plays...they weren't being "stuffed" by the Pats.
THEN with about 4:15 left in the first quarter, what changes that balanced rhythm?
Why it's "Deflady Brady" passing deep left to S.Vereen to IND 17 for 30 yards. That sets up a 12 yard deflady Brady pass to Edelman...and two plays later, TD...14-0.
SOOOO...the Colts, then...for the rest of the half...run only twice...and pass 10x...And then, pass it 10 out of 11 plays in the third quarter.
The Colts, due to "Deflady Brady's" illegal antics, go from running the ball 40% of the time to running it only less than 17% in the first half after falling behind 14-0 ...and, of course, even less than that as the game moved along.
And who would believe that "Deflady Brady" -- as long as he has Q'd -- couldn't immediately notice the underinflation early-on. He doesn't pass the "straight-face" test -- even if his coaches might.
Bottom line— The Colts didn’t cover the spread. I’d be pissed too if I had money on the game....
