Fifty years ago, how many teenage Beatles fans knew about music from 1915. That would be the equivalent.

Even more amazing than someone not knowing who Paul McCartney is, is the number of people who do know.

“There are going to be hundreds of new Beatles fans once all of this is done; it’s almost guaranteed.”

Hundreds of new fans? Drop in the bucket of stardom.

Flaming Lips’ cover of the Sgt. Pepper album with Lady Gaga probably exposed more people to the Beatles than Kanye will.

What are the drum beats that people loop from Beatles songs?

I know there was a gansta rap song that used rhythms from “Somebody’s Knocking At The Door” (the refrain is the same except there is a shotgun being cocked before the line “Open the door, and let ‘em in”)

If it weren't for Kanye West, I would have no clue who Kim Kardashian is. </sarc>

If you don’t think Kanye West is a musical genius, you’re racist.

Too bad Kayne can’t collaborate with Sinatra and Elvis. Bet he’d make them into stars too. He also missed collaborating with Mozart and Bach. They were all so unlucky to have missed out on the Kayne magic.

The sooner Paul McCartney is forgotten, the better.

"It's becoming more and more apparent that a new generational gap is forming."

I don't have a lot of confidence in the present generation's knowledge of the past, but it's kind of a cheap shot to pick out a few comments from social media and present them as representative. I would guess that millions of people under the age of thirty know who Paul McCartney is.

Please. There were kids in the 1980’s who didn’the know McCartny was in a band called The Beatles. I well remember it. Thought it was funny. The Beatles broke up 1969, for heaven sakes.

There is no intelligence in Twitter. I’m amazed people use it. Most of it is retreats of what somebody else thought. Waste of time. This is just more proof.

May I suggest you.give a listen to Radio Dismuke? 85 to 100 year old music streamed on the Internet. While I don't know the artist in most cases I enjoy the music, and audio restoration software has become quite sophisticated.

As far as the top 10 highest grossing artists of 2014, not one of them made as much as a single penny from me. I don't even know who half of them are nor do I want to. On the other hand, some of the freshest rock&roll on the planet these days is coming out of Japan. Rock&Roll will never die but it mutates every once in a while.

oh, did I mention Cleveland Style Polka?
