The Duchess of York launched an extraordinary defence of her former husband Prince Andrew today, describing him as 'the greatest man there is'.
Sarah Ferguson appeared in public for the first time since the Duke of York was accused of having sex with an under-age girl in a US court.
The Duchess has kept a low profile at the luxury Swiss ski chalet where she has been holidaying with Andrew and their younger daughter Eugenie.
But today she emerged from the £22,000-a-week chalet and went for a mountain walk dressed in black sportswear.
Asked by the Daily Mail if she was sticking by the Duke, she replied: The York family is a tight unit. Weve always been a tight unit.
He is the greatest man there is. It was the finest moment of my life in 1986 when I married him. He is a great man, the best man in the world.

The Church of England probably doesn’t even recognize their divorce, and still deems them married I would guess.
Homosexual Brit pedophiles are much better at handling this kind of thing. They just kill them after they’re done with them.
And cigars.....
“He can’t help it if he likes teenagers, now can he?”
You don’t know if the aligations are false.
And I don’t know if they are true.
So, let’s see how this plays out.
NJ? Oh, FL? Sen. Menendez involved with his Medicare fraud buddy?
I doubt he rises to the level of “great man” but neither do I think trial by media is fair to anyone.
I don’t really believe the “charge is bunk.” Why do you think it is?
Saw a picture in the DailyMail showing prince Andy with his arm around the girl in question, his bare hand on her bare midriff, both smiling into the camera. Might have been photoshopped, but it looked legit.
“The York family is a tight unit.”

Fergie is nuts.
I bet randy Andy thought those underage girls had “tight units” when he violated them.
I have no idea who is speaking the truth. But it never looks good to me when a person's best friends are pornographers like Hugh Heffner, as in the case of Bill Cosby, or perverts like this Jeffrey Epstein fellow, good friend of Prince Andrew. As the saying goes, “one is known by the company one keeps”.
I think it has been proven to be photoshopped. A shame how people love to destroy lives. If this were Todd Palin you would be horrified.
Throughout this story, the MSM has been inserting the phrase “Florida, where the age of consent is 18”. None of the claimed Andrew events happened in Florida. They were in England (age of consent 16), New York (17), and the private island (probably under English law).
The plot thickens: according to the Daily Mail, “Sarah Ferguson was once given £15,000 from paedophile billionaire Jeffrey Epstein to pay off her debts.”
Not to mention uncomfortable...
I think for a US citizen abroad the age is 18, no matter local law
I don’t think so. You’d be prosecuted in the jurisdiction where the crime happened, so local law applies. The efforts to prohibit US citizens from traveling to other countries for “encounters” with underage girls are based on the citizenship of the “vacationer”, not the girl.
Just MHO.

Wow! Some nerve he must have to have sex with someone in court!
And Andrew, heck of a nice guy and fun to be around when he is out and about. He never did strike me as a kind of guy that would ever become involved in that sort of thing whereas as Clinton. . .the creepiness just oozes.
Randy Andy, but that was when he was younger and single and chasing skirt in London.
