Perhaps the only sane comment I've ever seen over on DUmmieland was in this thread about Donna Douglas:

I feel sorry for those folks 40 years from now that will hear about the passing of, say, Kim Kardashian and then try to come up with one single reason why they should care.

The poster, Frank Cannon, had a passing moment of lucidity and will probably get zotted (or whatever they do over there in that leftist cesspool).

She’s also one of those most responsible for my voice change when I was a young lad.

I didn’t realize she was that old.

I had a youthful crush on her (when she was in her 20s).

RIP

"She was always happy, and she really loved animals — just like her character on 'The Beverly Hillbillies.' She was a wonderful lady, a very good Christian lady."

Indeed, when Douglas gave her autograph, she included a biblical verse ("Trust in the Lord with all your heart..."), according to New Orleans TV station WAFB.

RIP Donna.

I met her once. She was working at the Offshore Oil Drilling Conference in Houston in the 1970s. She was nice and very pretty — still. May she R.I.P. Pan CA is a rotten disease.

She was one of those rare people who was pretty enough that she did not have a physically weak viewing angle.

She always looked good.

Elly was just here in our town a few weeks ago. She came here often and spent time with her friend who lives just around the corner. Also, just heard that Little Jimmy Dickens has passed. 2015 is off to a bad start.

Not all that long ago I heard a taping of a show when she was on with Howard Stern. Howard was his regular adolescent self, but she was really classy... I have no clue how it was her agent booked her on Stern, but it was interesting.

I’ve been standing in for her ‘takin’ care of the critters’.

RIP to her, she was a hottie! BTW, I thought she was around my late mother’s age, 76 if she lived.

I've got an Elly May for a stepdaughter. Loves critters, wonderfully sweet and beautiful although she is the chestnut hair brown eyed variety. They're a special breed.
