In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “Word for the Day”.
Jobation
Noun
1. A scolding; a hand, tedious reproof.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

Jobation is a derivative of the verb “jobe”, which comes from the biblical Job, wherein his “friends” harangue and harass him about his present plight.

I had to go look at the etymology of the word - I suspected when I saw the word and the definition that it might have something to do with Job.
Pretty cool association, too.

Somebody gave Harry Reid a
jobation of sorts. Broken ribs and broken bones in his face from an "exercise accident". Hmm....or the mob was making a point. The thread is funny, for those looking for amusement.
