I liked the first “Taken” but found “2” to be pretty lame.I don't think I'll be seeing “3”.As for not traveling to Europe airfares are what keep me away these days. And it's my understanding that it's taxes imposed by Europe that are to blame. You can book a flight on at least one major airline from NY to Nairobi (18 hours of flying each way) for just over $800 (round trip) which is about what you'd pay from NY to Paris or Frankfurt (round trip).

I got to see a little of rural Scotland plus Edinburgh once back in the early 90s.

Not really. I’ve been there and done that. Traveled the world for my job. Been to 45 states. With all the hassles of traveling today, I don’t see a point.
I’m happy where I am at, with the exception of getting the food I love. Oh wait, I have my corned beef, pastrami and egg rolls shipped in.

Some of the outside of a place called Rosyth. Early June of 1992 and my 21 birthday just happen to fall in. Trip courtesy of Uncle Sam’s Haze Gray Sailing Club.
I would love to come back being a civilian. I’d love to see all the UK. Armed with a laptop, blank discs, the lumix 4K and all the memory I could afford plus a few changes of clothes would be all I need. I travel light.
My company’s main corporate office is outside of Glasgow but I don’t see me as important enough to get a trip over. I just deal with the broken, dead and dying computers and printers. Good outfit.

The only thing that is stopping me from traveling to Europe is lack of money. Since flying is out of the question I would have to go on a ship. I would want to pack like I was in “Joe vs the Volcano”. I would also have to have enough money to be over there at least 6 months if not longer because I want to see a lot of places and it would likely be a once in a lifetime trip.
I could spend months just in the UK trying to track down my history before moving on to France, Italy, Austria, Germany and who knows where else.
No stupid movie would stop me if I had the funds.
Situational awareness is a must EVERYWHERE you go. Know what is going on, take note of any other people and always locate all exits. Too many people with their minds on their damn smart phones and not enough attention to what is happening around them.

Well, I'm not afraid. I figure I have as much of a chance of being kidnapped and forced into a prostitution ring in the States as I do in Europe.
It's a very small number. Very. Small.
