Very sorry to hear that Robe. They may start out as pets but they quickly become beloved family members who happen to have fur. All the best.

Sorry for your loss. We had to do the same to our cat in October. He was 17, too.

My condolences, a few years back I had to have a very elderly former barn cat put down for the same reason. It stinks, but it’s the merciful thing to do.

I know far too well haw this feels for you. I am still torn up by losing my little buddy nine years ago the same way.
Now I have four of the little guys, two inside and two homeless guys that adopted us outside. I try to give them all the love I can, knowing their lives are far too short.

I am so sorry. Last month we had to do the same for our 18 year-old cat. She also had renal failure. This time we had the vet come to the house rather than make that one, awful last trip to her office. It costs a little more but works out the best for everyone.

Sorry about that. My granddaughter gave me two cats she was raised with. One got into a poisoned mouse from next door and is not here anymore. The other one had no hair on it’s butt from neglect, abuse or whatever. He is a retard, but is running around my leg right now, and is a loving, wonderful buddy. Even though he does’nt know we turned the clocks back back a COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO. The GD turns 20 soon, so the cat is close to that.

Crusty ole fighter pilots make extremely excellent cat companions. I know, I was married to one and he actually trained my cat (that I brought to the marriage) to sit, stay, and to NOT demand ham sandwiches until offered a bite. That kitty went on for 19 years. His last meal was Virginia baked ham.
You did a great job with Buddy, Robe. So nice to have him in the backyard where you can continue to converse with him. I don’t think they ever actually leave us. Magical beings, our cats.

My prayers are with you. I had to do that some years back with my beloved ‘’Gizzy’’. Lately I fear I'll have to put down my beloved Scooter. He's thirteen years old, diabetic and seems to be getting more frail. I think his eye sight is failing. He's the most beautiful cat I've ever owned. Black stripes against a grey background, an immaculately beautiful white chest. The girls at the vets office call him "Mr. Handsome''. And even though he's older now, he has a muscular, well built chest and powerful fore arms and a thick neck. He's built like a leopard and the best darn mouser I've ever seen. Where I live is kind of rural. Over the course of thirteen years he's gotten five mice. I don't know how they got in the house but he got them in no time flat. He never leaves my side. Whether I'm at the computer, watching TV or sitting on the couch reading he's always sitting near by. I hope the Good Lord gives us a few more years with him because I'll sure miss him when he's gone.

I’m sorry for your loss, I’ve been through it myself. Too bad they can’t do more for CRF in kitties and dogs.

Very sorry for your loss. We’ve lost two over the years. Our 14 year old is hanging in there OK.

So many of us know and understand your pain. We also lost two cats recently and it still hurts when we think of them. Time is the only cure and the memories you have will become fond rather than painful. All the best to you.

My cat Toonces (1989-2007) became my cat when I was a single guy living in a trailer. By the time she died, I had married and had four kids.

One of my cats has a issues as he ages. Sometimes he vomits all over the floor and sometimes he pisses all over or poops. The vomiting came about 9 years ago due to his over eating or eating grass outside or something. But the pooping started last winter in 2013 when he got sick. Now he also pisses on walls and floors occasionally.
It almost was put down. but it was kept as he was doing better. Somedays, however, he acts up. Aunt though he might have a chronic disease but Vet found nothing. Her cat was ill and was found chronically ill last year, that being 2013.
Dad keeps thinking our cat is ill when he vomits too much.
